When one decides to become a Christian and gets baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (FULLY submerged baptism, not sprinkling), one will receive the free gifts of Salvation/Forgiveness of Sins and Everlasting Life. And along with this comes the gift of the Holy Spirit/Spirit of Truth that will tell you “this is of God” or “this is NOT of God”, in other words, the gift of Spiritual Discernment.

However, the MOMENT you become fully-submerged baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, Satan and his demons will IMMEDIATELY set you apart and put you on their “SPIRITUAL HITLIST” of people to spiritually attack. Because quite technically, becoming a fully-submerged baptized Christian in the name of Jesus Christ makes YOU, the Christian believer, one of Satan’s BIGGEST threats in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE (next to the Lord Jesus Christ & the Lord’s angels, themselves!) Basically, the more people turn to Jesus Christ and AWAY from the throes of Satan, the less souls that Satan will be able to steal away from Jesus Christ Almighty!

“But how exactly does Satan try to steal away a soul from Jesus Christ?”, one might ask. Well, the answer is simple: subtlety. He’s not gonna come out with the full-blazing spiritual guns, sort’ve speak, and loudly proclaim to you: “hi, I’m Satan and I’m here to try to steal your soul away! mmuhhahahhaha” No, he’s gonna be far more subtle than that. He starts out small, then works up big. For example, maybe the first thing he’ll do is use non-believing friends, family and coworkers to try to make you feel “ashamed” or “guilty” of your faith in Jesus Christ and/or to make you feel like a “religious bigot” of sorts. And then, he slowly branches out from there in his attacks.

He will then use non-believers around you to “tempt you” in doing things that go against the bible. Things like “go ahead and keep the extra change, it’s ONLY 2 quarters, nobody’s gonna care or notice”, “go ahead, get a soda refill without paying for it, nobody’s gonna care or notice” or “the bible never condemns drinking, ya know? So what’s the harm in it?” or “the bible doesn’t really prohibit pre-marital sex, sex is a gift from God, so it’s REALLY not gonna hurt ya to partake of it before marriage” or perhaps “it said that God gave us every single plant so there’s really no harm in smoking hash/marijuana/grass/mary jane”.

Well, we know first-hand that people have actually died from the synthetic “hash/marijuana” being marketed to people today as the following articles demonstrate:

http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/06/health/synthetic-marijuana-denver/

So yes, there is REAL HARM in it, not only physical and mental harm, but spiritual harm as well, MARK MY WORDS!

But going back to the topic at hand, spiritual warfare. If you attempt to save yourself for marriage, Satan will no doubt try to tempt you with lust, pornography, and the like. And he will MOST SPECIFICALLY use a non-believing boyfriend/girlfriend to do that. And if THAT doesn’t work, Satan will try a slightly different approach. He will get the non-believing boyfriend/girlfriend to put pressure on you. “Oh what, you don’t love me? Is that it? Are you cheating on me or what? Yeah well, EVERYBODY’S doing it and you’re gonna have trouble finding someone who isn’t!” to try to SHAME you into pre-marital sex.

And if and when you DO ever cave to the temptation of pre-marital sex, Satan will use the “guilt” and “shame” you feel over it to EVEN FURTHER drag you down (spiritually speaking). Satan will try like heck to get you to believe the LIE of “well, I’ve already done it once, I might as well keep doing it since Jesus Christ is too ashamed of me, now!” And then, once Satan has you hating yourself, he gots you right where he wants you and you are “fair game” to him, spiritually speaking.

Some people think “once marked in the name of God, always marked in the name of God” but that’s just not true! For when Christians become luke-warm or REPEATEDLY cave to Satan’s temptations (such as “go ahead and have pre-marital sex on a continual basis, God’s not gonna care”, “Jesus doesn’t care if you continually party, he partied himself at the wedding at Canaan”, “go ahead and continually smoke hash with the coworkers, it’s alright”), the mark of God on them/the burning fire in their hearts FOR the Lord (brought on by full immersion baptism) will start to “fade/die out” over time until one day, it’s hardly ignited in their hearts at all and then, if the person STAYS on the path of darkness, the flame in their hearts FOR God might just disappear altogether. And the only way for them to RE-IGNITE that flame in their hearts FOR the Lord Jesus Christ is to once again, read God’s Word/the bible, REPENT of all sins and RE-APPLY the bible to their lives!

“But why is baptism even NEEDED in the first place?”, one might ask and the simple answer is this: baptism (the “ceremonial washing away of sins” is not only done TO Jesus Christ himself in the river Jordan in the New Testament by John the Baptist) but the bible has about 12+ passages that command baptism and they are as follows:

1. Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

2. Mark 1:5 “And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins”

3. Luke 3:21 “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,”

4. Galatians 3:27 “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ”

5. Matthew 3:6 “And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins”

 6. Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized is saved but he who does not believe is condemned”

 7. Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and every one of you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”

 8. John 3:5 “Jesus answered, most truly I say to you, unless anyone is born of water and spirit [baptized], one cannot enter the Kingdom of God [heaven]“

 9. Acts 10:48 “With that, he commanded them to baptized in the name of Christ

10. Acts 22:16 “And now, why are you delaying? Rise and get baptized and wash your sins away by calling upon his name”

11. Colossians 2:12 “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead

12. Romans 6:4 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”

13. Ephesians 4:5 “One Lord, one faith, one baptism

14. 1 Peter 3:21 “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”

[[**And for those who think or worry that babies go to hell if they’re not baptized, John 15:22 says: “If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin“. In other words, babies are pardoned. Except in the cases of the Old Testament where a whole entire city was wiped out, the decree of Herod, and the decree of the Lord against Pharaoh and the Egyptians, all babies are pardoned. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 19:14 “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven“. ]]

Even though Satan STILL tempts those who are “already his” (spiritually speaking) — (this is evidenced for example when famous people spiral further & further out of control due to Satan FURTHER tempting them to go even FURTHER and FURTHER down the path of darkness such as “go ahead, join the million dollar club”, “open up a new nightclub”, “go ahead and do some Hollywood drug using/dealing on the side, it’s not gonna kill you” and the like) — he’s actually far more interested in the “saints of God” (that is to say, TRUE biblical-roots Christians who not only have the testimony of the Word of God/the Holy Bible written on their hearts, but actually go out and APPLY it to their lives). Why? Because THOSE people are the true “threats” to him. But basically, his goal is to tempt ALL. He wants to keep those already under his spell IN his spiritual grip and he wants to try to get those who are OUT of his control (true Christians) INTO his control, if that makes any sense.

Jesus said in John 15: 18-23 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also

Matthew 16: 24-26 says “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

John 16:23 says “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world

So in other words, Jesus Christ NEVER promised that being a true Christian would be “easy”. In fact, he suggested it would be anything BUT easy in today’s evil, evil world. However, in John 16:23, he reminds us not to worry about the trials and tribulation we will have in this world because he’s ALREADY overcome the world.

Matthew 5:10 states: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven“. Verses 11-12 go on to say: “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you”.

So in other words, when you TRULY live for Jesus Christ, people are gonna take notice and some are gonna severely persecute you for it. However, when this happens, Jesus Christ says to be glad since your rewards in heaven will be great whenever this happens. And the REASON why we are persecuted for our faith in Jesus Christ is because he (Jesus) wants to TEST our faith and teach us how to have STRONG FAITH, even in the face of Adversity! Think back to Abraham in the Old Testament. The Lord wanted to test Abraham and his faith to see if he (Abraham) valued the Lord above, first and foremost before everything else in his life. And thankfully, Abraham passed the test. We also read about a guy named Job (pronounced Yob) in the Old Testament who also had HIS faith put to the test. And once again, he ALSO thankfully passed the testing of his faith. But there are some out there who when their faith is tested, fall.

Matthew 7: 24-27 states: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it”. In other words, how strong is our faith and trust in the Lord? Will we bow out and give up at the FIRST sign of persecution or will we hold strong, even IN SPITE of major adversity, like Abraham and Job did in the Old Testament?
