Be Careful Whom Ye Trust

Have you ever noticed that sometimes the person you’d LEAST expect to betray you, betrayed you? How is that? What were the warning signs? How could you not see ahead of time what all the warning signs were? Let us examine….

It all begins with flattery. We think when a person constantly flatters us, that that must automatically mean that they like us. (And there’s actually a difference between flattering and complementing). But what’s underneath the surface of “false flattery?” Let us turn to the bible for the answer!

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feetIn the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice” – [Proverbs 29: 5-6]

The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hatefulThe words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good” – [Psalm 36: 1-3]

“A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin” – [Proverbs 26:28]

Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant” – [Psalm 78: 36-37]

Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open grave, they flatter with their tongue” [Psalm 5:8-9]

They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speakThe Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?” – [Psalm 12: 2-4]

“They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah” – [Psalm 62:4]

“The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords” – [Psalm 55:21]

So in other words, the person who “flatters you” all the time should immediately be made suspect, according to the bible! Why? Because the bible says that their heart is “double speak”. Meaning, they appear to be flattering you on the outside, but on the INSIDE, their heart is full of nothing but deceit!

I’ve had such an experience before, in my life. Someone had kept on flattering me, telling me how much better I was than another whom they disliked. (This should’ve been my FIRST red flag that something was “spiritually amiss”, there!) They kept making me think that he had my best interests in mind, etc. In fact, my own “pride” made me felt somewhat reassured to think that atleast ONE other person (“the flatterer”) had my best interests in mind.

And then, when I least expected it, they had started to flatter ANOTHER person in front of me all the time, while occasionally putting ME down (So goes the saying “Thou take prideth before a fall”). However, that being said, the spiritual equation at play here is that one person keeps getting pitted against another, notice the pattern there, folks?

Another form of “false flattery” that I’ve learned in my spiritual walk to look out for is (gasp!) “false empathy”. I’ve had more than one case in my life where a spiritual enemy had swooped in, pretended to care about me and then betrayed me when I least expected it. How did they do it? False flattery, packed with FALSE EMPATHY: “Oh, you’ve been working too hard, you need to take some time off and RELAX“.

Okay folks, now lets think about that last statement there in SPIRITUAL CONTEXT “Oh, you’ve been working too hard, you need to take some time off and RELAX“. And what do ya get? That’s pretty much Satan’s argument to Eve in the Garden of Eden, VERBATIM….The viewpoint that God’s being such a “jerk” by making her and Adam “work so hard at righteousness” but that her and Adam deserved the *best things* – i.e. some *relaxation* from having to work so hard at *being good & righteously productive*”, and that only HE (the Devil/unrighteousness itself) could give her/them “the relaxing REST and peace of mind she/they been looking for”. Notice the striking similarity there, folks?

[[Note: It’s really the “relax” part that gives it away. One of the devil’s best-kept lies is that we should just “kick back and relax” all the time in today’s world! But the brutal reality is that the Lord Jesus Christ and his angels never take a “break” from righteousness, so why should WE? Yet, that’s how the Devil tries to get us to effectively get us to “relax” our righteousness in today’s world! “You’ve been working too hard, lately. You need to focus on YOU for awhile!”]]

In fact, Matthew 6:21 puts it THIS way: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. Translation? That simply means that the “things” and “people” they are MOST interested in determines WHERE their “heart is” in life, WHAT their “heart” is currently “focusing on“. So if you’re a Christian and your “flatterer” doesn’t have much of a heart for Jesus, then it’s highly likely that that person also doesn’t have much of a heart for YOU!]]

And also: when it comes to fellow Christians, just because a person “appears” to have the love of Christ in them does NOT mean that they do!

Remember what 1 John 4:1 says. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world”

Also…..Matthew 7: 15-20 states:Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolvesYe shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them”

In other words, a person can “say” that they’re a “Christian” or that they have your best “spiritual” interests at heart, but if their actions aren’t lining up with their words? It may be time to reconsider the situation and reassess rather or not you want that person in your (spiritual) life or not.

We must remember that we’re living in the Last Days. Matthew 24: 12-14 gives a very clear picture of just what TYPE of “Last Days Society” that we’re now currently living in, in 2018 & beyond:And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come”

Please remember that Satan (and his demons) don’t come in at full speed ahead. Rather, they’re more subtle. In Genesis 3:1, part A, it records: “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made”.

Translation? Satan didn’t come out at Eve with full spiritual guns blazing. The bible says he was more subtle. He waited until she was NEAR to the forbidden tree! For what good would it have done if he had tried to come at her when she was far, far away from the forbidden tree (as in an out of site, out of mind type of thing?) Think about it, folks!

That’s what “the false flatterer” did. They waited until they were alone with me before they started to “flatter me” over someone else. (And like I said, this should’ve been my FIRST clue that something was spiritually amiss in my workplace. For “dissensions”…..trying to pit one person against another…. is the very FIRST sign of demonic, spiritual warfare that’s going on!)

And now, not surprisingly, sometime later on, they had nothing but praises for YET ANOTHER…….while trying to make “me” feel small again…..Just goes to show ya. That’s how Satan rolls. He comes in subtly, attempts to gain your trust, and once he feels as though he’s gained your trust, BAM! HE STRIKES! That’s why we must NEVER, EVER (as a born-again Christian) trust a “constant flatterer!”

But then again, it all goes back to “pride”. We’re human beings. It’s human nature to want to feel loved and accepted by others, right? But at what price, folks? At what price? For if our wanting to feel love and accepted by CERTAIN others causes us to spiritually FALL in our walk with Christ? It’s time to let that person go (as well as the “idea” of that person altogether, go!) Because our “worth” should ONLY be wrapped up in Christ and righteousness and NO OTHER!

Romans 3:4 states: “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged”

Most recently at my job, they also started what I call a “sticker campaign”. Whenever someone does a good job on something, they get a sticker. And then people “pride” themselves on the number of stickers they get and compare themselves to others by how many stickers they get, etc. And then, there’s these workplace “drawings” where a worker wins prizes, etc. See how Satan works, folks? He wants all the employees at my workplace to get all bent out of shape over “stickers” and “prizes”. It’s crazy, really. What are we all, in the 4th grade or something? “Here’s a sticker”.

Well, I most recently decided to rebel by NOT wearing the “sticker patch”. And what happened? My boss tried to tell me I’d get my department in trouble if I didn’t wear the patch. So there was this “immense pressure” at work for ALL employees to wear their “sticker patch”. This also got me to thinking: “Should we be more concerned with the praises of Jesus/God or the praises of men?”

Once I started caring more about the praises of Jesus, INSTEAD of the praises of men, being forced to wear that “new sticker patch” by management no longer bothered me. Don’t get me wrong though, employee appreciation is a good thing. I just wish it was done in such a way where it didn’t feel like such a “competition” but that’s another post for a different day.

I’ve also noticed as well that many times, my good, hard work there goes unnoticed by others (though I know THE LORD NOTICES….) and that all my mistakes (which actually aren’t very many) are blown way out of proportion and focused on ALL DAY LONG! Whereas, another coworker could make the same exact types of mistakes, and it’s laughed off like it’s nothing, etc. But again, I’m sure MANY people out there (both Christian AND non-Christian) have experienced similar things at the workplace.

So what does that tell ya, folks? Satan’s attacking a good majority of humans at their jobs today; left, right and center and wants to make THEM feel small! Well, as true Christians, we should NEVER back down from a spiritual fight! So whatever Satan spews at us at our respective workplaces, I say BRING IT! For 1 John 4:4 proudly proclaims: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you

– [Matthew 5: 11-12]

So to draw this all to a close, what all have we learned today, folks? Satan is subtle. He comes in the most LEAST unexpected ways, oftentimes through “false empathy” and “false flattery”. People who flatter us all the time are NOT to be spiritually trusted, according to scripture! And furthermore, our self-worth must come from CHRIST HIMSELF and NOT from man/mankind! And lastly, REJOICE when you are persecuted in ANY type of way for your faith in Christ! For, as Matthew 5:11-12 states: “GREAT IS YOUR REWARD IN HEAVEN” 😉

I hope this has helped somebody today who’s gone through, will soon go through or IS going through the situation of “false flattery” and being betrayed by someone when you LEAST expected it! But trust in Jesus Christ, ALWAYS! No matter what, folks! For JESUS is the ANSWER and the SOLUTION to whatever problem you’re going through right now!

He is the author and creator of ALL life! The maker of the heavens and the universe! He is most certainly NOT gonna scratch his head in confusion over how to help you OVERCOME any and all situations! WITH JESUS CHRIST YOU CAN BE VICTORIOUS, IN ANY AND ALL SITUATIONS, NO MATTER WHAT! 😉

I love each and every single one of you and hope you have a blessed evening, in the name of the Lord! And remember: Put Jesus FIRST and all other things shall follow! Put Jesus FIRST and the enemy will NEVER, EVER be able to conquer you! PRAISE JESUS! 😉

How to Witness for Christ: A Shy Person’s Guide

School of-Biblical-Evangelism First of all, this is a MOST EXCELLENT book on the subject! It has some VERY pertinent and TIMELY information in it! A MUST-READ! 😉 [Though ONE thing in the book I DO NOT agree with is when it “claims” that Christians are no longer required to participate in the Lord’s 7th day BIBLICAL Sabbath and BIBLICAL holidays! For we must STILL celebrate those things, people! For the Lord is the same today, yesterday, and evermore! He hails from EVERLASTING!]

Because lets face it………Matthew 28: 19-20 is probably one of THE MOST difficult bible passages to follow and apply to one’s life, ESPECIALLY when one is “shy” or somehow “socially inept”.

You may reason within yourself : “but people don’t really listen to what I say anyways, so why would they listen to me about the things of God?”

But one thing is for sure……Jesus Christ has commanded us in Matthew 28: 19-20 to “make a disciple of all nations” as the following bible passages illustrate:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” [Matthew 28:18-19]

So what’s a shy person to do, you may ask?

Well, the truth is, the Lord Jesus Christ gave each and every one of us specific gifts in life and we are to use those gifts for HIS glory! For example, certain people may be shy and social situations are difficult for them. However, God made them good in OTHER areas in life, in order to make up for it. For example, lets say a person’s REALLY shy. And though they may be extremely shy and socially awkward towards others, perhaps the Lord Jesus Christ gave them the gift of photography, painting, video making, musical instrument making, writing, card-making, drawing, etc.

In other words, you don’t HAVE to stand on a street corner or in front of a Walmart/etc. and preach to people IN PERSON to effectively witness for Christ as there are MANY ways for shy people to witness for Christ. One can buy a webcam and make Youtube videos. Or one can create a WordPress blog (like me) and/or write “Notes” on Facebook, or write “anonymous letters” in the mail to people that need to be saved (just make sure to do so with Christ-like love and NO judgement on your part), or make Windows Movie Maker movies and/or use 3D Magix Creation Software (to create animated Christian movies/short films).

Or you could even custom design your own bible verse business cards/postcards/greeting cards/signs/posters with Zazzle.com to either randomly hand out to people (if you feel strong and brave enough to do so) OR to anonymously place on people’s car windshields or in other random places where people are most likely to see them/etc. And what’s great about Zazzle is that you can place pictures and text on the front AND back of the card/postcard/business card! (Another good site to try if you’re creating custom-made bible verse business cards is Vistaprint.com!)

An additional site that has some really good witnessing materials for sale is Ray Comfort’s ministry called LIVING WATERS!

HERE, you can view & purchase “gospel tracks”: http://store.livingwaters.com/gospel-tracts.html

OR view & purchase various books on the subject of “Christian witnessing”: http://store.livingwaters.com/books.html

But note: BEFORE you place your “gospel-tract materials”, please make sure to say a prayer OVER the materials: say a prayer that each individual card or postcard will go to the person it’s meant to go to, AND that the said person who receives the card/postcard will become saved in the name of Almighty Yeshua/Jesus Christ.

And true, some people who aren’t believers in Christ or followers of a different religion just MIGHT get offended at the “material(s)” that you use to witness to them. But so what. Not only does the Lord promise eternal blessings to those who suffer “persecution for righteousness’ sake, but IF you do a sort’ve “place cards and run” witnessing style: A) You won’t have to be there to personally see their “rejection” of your materials in person and B) the Lord Jesus Christ promises eternal rewards to those who suffer for the case of righteousness if they DO see you and bicker about the materials they see you placing there!

In fact, Jesus said in John 5:10-12:

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” [John 5:10-12]

Jesus also said in John 15: 18-25:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also” [John 15: 18-25]

So yes, we WILL likely come up against some clamour and opposition during our “witnessing” (even if it’s done in a sort’ve hit and run witnessing style — such as placing custom made business cards with bible verses on car windshields in a parking lot somewhere). Because either someone will actually SEE you place the cards on the windshields/etc. and start to harass you or complain OR the people around you that know you (friends, family, coworker) will start haranguing you for being Christian. But the truth is, if you’re NOT being persecuted in SOME way, shape or form, that means you’re doing it wrong.

(That doesn’t mean however, that non-believers will never suffer from “temptation”, they most certainly WILL…..”hey man, come party with us tonight, bro!”, etc. etc……..SATAN TEMPTS ALL HUMAN BEINGS…….It’s just that the ones who attempt to live by God’s truth/the bible will be EVEN MORE tempted/persecuted than the average person or than the average Christian….

And the reason being is because that person/those people are more of a “threat” to Satan than the average human is. However, essentially ALL humans are a “threat” to Satan. Because humans are God’s most treasured creation and until a human is dead & gone, there is ALWAYS that potential chance that a human might be “Saved” in the name of Jesus Christ, thus, why Satan has to continually tempt ALL humans!)

I most recently had an experience where someone close to me more or less implied: “Look at you! Look at your life! What good has it done you to serve the Lord when you’re still single/have no kids/have never been married/are still working a part-time job, even though you have a college degree?”

Well, quite frankly, that kind’ve reminded me of the story of Job (pronounced Yobe) in the Old Testament. When the angels came before the great & mighty Lord God to give their “reports” of the humans on Earth, Satan slipped in with them and God bragged to Satan about what a good & faithful servant Job (“Yobe”) was, to which Satan more or less quipped “oh yeah? it actually PAYS him to serve you, look how RICH he is, if you take away all that he owns, he will surely curse thee!”

So God took him up on the challenge and told Satan he could do whatever he wanted with Job’s possessions but that he had to spare Job himself. Well, Job was faithful to God. Satan got pissed. He once again quipped to God “if you take away Job’s HEALTH, THEN he’ll curse thee, for sure!” So, once again, the Lord God took Satan up on his challenge and allowed Job’s health to fail him, giving him painful boils all over his body.

That’s around the time when Job’s WIFE took one look at him and said “WHY DON’T YOU JUST CURSE GOD AND DIE?” I mean, it’s the same principle, here. The message from my relative was “what good has it done you to serve the Lord? LOOK AT YOU!” And I have to be honest, here….I was exceedingly glad when that happened, because it reminded me that to BE persecuted to such a degree signifies that the bible-believing Christian person is living RIGHT for God/Jesus Christ.

But it’s not just witnessing materials that let us witness for Christ and the wonderful gospel of Salvation and Eternal Life. We also witness for Christ by HOW we live our lives. Calling ourselves “Christian” on our Facebook page or on WordPress or at work/etc. only goes so far. What kind of movies or TV shows are we watching? Do we drink or cuss alot? What kind of music do we listen to? Do we have multiple tattoos running up and down our bodies? Are we angry and short-tempered people? Or are we loving, kind, generous, patient, nonjudgmental, genuine/unconditional, etc?

For example, if a person calls themselves Christian but then turns around and holds a MAJOR grudge against someone/etc. and lets it be known to several others, that’s not a very great witnessing tool. For it says to all non-believers “well, I guess it’s okay for Christians to hold grudges against people/etc, apparently since SAID CHRISTIAN is doing so”. But if a person is patient, loving, kind, generous, long-suffering, etc., that paints a whole other picture about just what a TRUE biblical-based “Christian” is supposed to be.

And the truth is, we ALL have our conversion story of how we came to faith in Jesus Christ. What’s YOURS? Tell it! Tell it to the world and don’t wait! Time is running short, people! We don’t have alot of time left before Jesus Christ returns to the Earth and once he does, that’s it, there will be NO second chances!

Someday, the heaven and the Earth are gonna pass away and a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH will be created and there will also be what’s called “the Day of Judgement” where ALL souls (meaning, ALL souls that have EVER lived upon the Earth) will be judged according to their works. Where will YOU be on that day? What will YOU say before a holy, righteous, pure God?

“Oh, I’m sorry Lord, my sin was just FAR too important to me while living on the Earth, please forgive me and spare me from the lake of fire?” Do you think the Lord Jesus is gonna listen? Despite his hundreds if not THOUSANDS of attempts he tried to make while you were living, to try to draw you close to him?

OF such souls, Jesus Christ will say:Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity [Matthew 7:21-23]

However, the souls that WERE wise, willing, brave and humble enough to follow the commands of Jesus Christ in the bible (10 commandments, Sermon on the Mount teachings which EXPANDED upon the 10 commandments, as well as all New Testament commands, etc.) and that had 100% FAITH and TRUST in him, he will say: (“His lord said unto him) “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” [Matthew 25:21]

But lets face it. As humans beings living on this Earth, we CARE about what people think of us, what our friends think of us and most specifically what our family, strangers, and coworkers think of us. It’s human nature to want to feel loved & accepted by everyone (or atleast, most people). But this idea of “I need to be accepted before mankind” is a FALSE DOCTRINE from the pits of hell! Because men are fallible but the Lord God himself is NOT fallible!

And think about it folks, who would you rather have mad at you? Fellow men/mankind or God himself? Think about that one for awhile. What’s better? Being temporarily shunned on the Earth by fellow men by being a true biblical-based Christian and then enjoying eternity with Jesus Christ someday OR fitting in with family/friends/people at work NOW by NOT being a “Christian” but then experiencing an ETERNITY in the LAKE OF FIRE, later?

But basically, Christian witnessing comes down to THIS: FEAR or FAITH. Which of THESE do you have? How you answer this question will play into rather or not you can or will be an effective witness for Christ.

2 Timothy 7 says:For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind“.

Hebrews 11:6 says:But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.

Usually, our lack of effective Christian witnessing comes from our FEAR of witnessing and our FEAR of witnessing comes from a LACK of faith and our LACK of faith comes from NOT FREQUENTLY READING THE TESTIMONY OF THE WORD OF GOD IN THE BIBLE (Old AND New Testaments!!!!)

Romans 10:17 states: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

This guy says it best when he explains about how we must pick up our cross DAILY and read the Word of God DAILY in order to spiritually mature & grow.

When you very first start going out on a limb to start “witnessing” for Christ, it can kind’ve be a scary experience (especially if you’re shy and not gifted with the talent of *social gab*). But with some baby steps and some bible reading and some praying and diligently humbling thyself before the Lord, you can learn to become a more effective witness for Christ.

Trusting the “spiritual promptings” of the Holy Spirit is KEY! For example, maybe one day you see an old lady slowly walking down the street in the heat of day and a small, still voice will say to you in your mind: “hey, you should drive by, roll down your window and see if the old lady needs a ride anywhere”. And ya know what? It could later turn out to be one of the best witnessing opportunities of your LIFE! Because the truth is, there are Atheists, Hindus, Muslims, Satanists, Buddhists, Catholics, Mormons all around us.

And when the Lord tells us to act and we DON’T, well, THAT is considered “willful disobedience” and will come at a PRICE! ;( (Perhaps the person you were “supposed” to witness to about Christ that day later died in a car accident later that evening, or your refusing to give the old lady a ride in the hot summer sun caused her to later die of heat exhaustion that very same day!)

However, even though Jesus Christ is “highly disappointed” in us whenever we fail to act on his behalf, he IS always willing and waiting to forgive us if we cry out to him in prayer and vow to never disobey him again! But DO be warned: the Lord’s patience CAN wear thin if we make “willful disobedience” a habit!

Remember the ancient Israelites after they fled the land of Egypt on Moses & Aaron’s promptings and God’s command to Moses? And how much they bickered & complained, in spite of what all God did for them? He got to the point where he wanted to destroy them ALL, save for Moses and his family, but Moses pleaded with the Lord on their behalf and the Lord decided NOT to destroy them all. However, imagine what it was like for the Israelites when MOSES’S patience wore thin……..

And the Lord Jesus Christ will oftentimes gives us an “opening” to witness to such people. Maybe you hear a couple of Atheists debating amongst themselves at work rather God might possibly be theoretically “REAL” or not. That’s when you can interject and tell both of them at the same time “yes, he IS real, and here’s why!” Or perhaps your non-believing coworker comes straight up to you one day and asks: “do practicing homosexuals REALLY go to eternal condemnation in the fire after they die?”

We must try to take advantage of ANY and ALL witnessing opportunities that the Lord gives us, no matter how hard & difficult they may seem! You can EVEN do what’s called a “pre-witnessing prayer”, that is a prayer like the following: “Lord, please give me an opening today to talk about you with others. And please give me the courage, faith and strength to follow through, once so. Thank-you Lord, amen”.

And just remember: whenever you feel afraid, just think of John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”.

I pray that ALL souls that read this will become a more effective witness for Christ and will start witnessing like CRAZY before the Great & Mighty Day of the Lord comes. Amen.

God’s Wrath vs. God’s Love/Forgiveness

You know how there are two sides to every coin? Well, there are also two sides to God. Many churches today only preach about God’s loving, forgiving grace and how “God is love”. And while God IS love, many churches of today also forget to mention something called “God’s Righteous/Divine Wrath”. It was apparent many times throughout the Old Testament and even a few times in the New Testament (after God had taken the fleshly form of Jesus Christ).

But the difference between God’s anger and our anger, is this: God’s Anger is righteous, while our anger is not. Why? Our anger (in human vanity) accompanies sin but God’s anger does not. If, for example, God is mad because most men/women in today’s times aren’t chasing after righteousness, that is classified as divine anger. But if we ourselves get angry over someone else’s un-righteousness, then our anger is sinful since we are technically judging others before we judge ourselves.

God is sovereign and created us all, therefore, he has no “need” to be measured up to anyone or anything else. AND he only wants what’s best for us. Therefore, God’s Anger is Righteous!

There were honestly many times throughout my lifetime when I was able to feel God’s love (a word of encouragement from a friend, a kind stranger who smiled at me at the grocery store, many good miracles happening in the news, the peace in my soul that comes from knowing that I’m saved in Jesus’s name, etc.)

But since “all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God” [Romans 3:23], that means that I, along with everyone else on this Earth, am not perfect. There have also been times in my life where I have made God VERY righteously angry.

In the year 2000 or 2001, me and a Catholic friend Sarah were just hanging at my place, chillaxing on a cloudy/rainy Friday afternoon. I was in the process of moving some furniture around and had my old bed and bed frame out in my living room. Suddenly, (or so I thought), I had this funny idea. I put myself in front of the bed frame and then held it up to either side to mimic Jesus on the cross. I said to my friend: “dudey, dudey, why have you forsaken me?” thinking it was just a funny, harmless joke. Sarah thought it was funny and turned around and did the same thing.

Later on that day, Sarah and I discovered that it was none other than…….GOOD FRIDAY!! And even though there was no violent thunderstorm or lightning or fire coming down from heaven or anything like that just then, after we both performed what we thought was our “harmless joke”, I pretty much knew in the depths of my soul somehow that God was mad at us. The only question was, how mad?

We both apologized to the Lord on the spot (while still thinking in the back of our minds that it was still a harmless joke).

Later on that night, I saw something I’ll never forget, so help me God! I was awakened by some EXTREMELY loud crackles in the sky, followed by one of THE MOST violent thunderstorms I had ever seen in ALL MY LIFE! I looked outside and there was this HUGE, white ball of light at the top of the sky and out of this huge ball of light was this thick, neon green lightning bolt. And the huge ball of light kept moving around but stayed in a fixed, stationary position in the sky every time it “stop/paused” to bring about the HUGE strike from the neon green lightning bolt, protruding down OUT of it! There was no doubt in my mind; this was the Lord’s SEVERE WRATH upon me and my friend for what we thought was our *harmless joke*.

I looked out my window and the thunder and lightning bolt kept getting closer and closer to my bedroom window!!! I LITERALLY thought it was the End of the World! I cowered in fetal position and hid underneath my blanket and started crying hysterically and praying for it all to end! And then I thought I heard three loud words coming from somewhere: “D O N ‘ T  M O C K  M E!” And I got even more scared!

And every time I thought “why are you getting so angry for, Lord? It wasn’t that bad, it was just a harmless, innocent joke! I didn’t truly MEAN anything by it! You KNOW that! Give me a break!” the lightning and thunder would go BBAAMM, BBAAMM, BBAAAMM and get closer and closer to my window! I truly thought I was gonna be struck to death with that neon green lightning bolt and DIE! I had never been more scared in my LIFE! And yet, every time I thought it WAS pretty bad what me and her had said, the *storm* would start to lessen a bit & start to move away from my window!

I was absolutely utterly terrified, worried that the Lord was gonna strike me down with that huge neon green lightning bolt any second! Once I realized how wrong I was in what I said and did earlier that day, ESPECIALLY on a “Good Friday” of all days, I just felt SO bad for what I said, that I told God that he was right and that I deserved to die for my misdeed against him; against the holy Son who saved me from death when I was younger!

And slowly but surely, the *storm* started to recede away. I saw the neon green lightning bolt being sucked back up into the sky, *into* the huge white ball of light and then the huge ball of light completely disappeared in the sky. The next thing I know, there was a peaceful breeze blowing outside. Even though I definitely did NOT deserve it, I felt as that was the Lord’s way of communicating to me that he had forgiven me after my SEVERE repentance/change of heart but to also remind me to never sin in that way ever again, less something worse should happen to me!

And I felt the Lord’s love for me SO strongly then, at that moment in time of the peaceful breeze blowing outside. Just like I also felt the total WEIGHT of my sin and how truly AWFUL it had been! [Even looking back to that, this very DAY, I’m STILL ashamed of my sin that day and of how I didn’t truly realize/recognize at that time that making ANY type of religious “joke” (EVEN if the “joke” is not meant AT ALL to mock Christ/the bible/the biblical prophets in ANY type of way) DOES in fact mock Christ/the bible/the biblical prophets. SO THINK TWICE BEFORE MAKING YOUR NEXT “BIBLICAL JOKE”. OR BETTER YET…….DON’T **EVEN** MAKE ANY BIBLICAL JOKES **AT ALL**!]

The next afternoon, Sarah came over to my place to hang out again and she asked me “dude, did you experience that nasty, violent t-storm last night or was it just me, man?” And I was relieved to know that I wasn’t the only one who had experienced that! But anyways, we were standing there in my yard animatedly talking about it when my neighbor the next house over said to us: “STORM? Ha! What storm? There was no storm, believe me, I would’ve heard one had there been one!” Her and I both immediately looked at each other like “oh my gosh! It really WAS the Lord! D U D E!”

“For the Wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” – Romans 1:18

But needless to say, I have definitely learned my lesson about making any types of “jokes” about Jesus and I haven’t DARED tried [even remotely] to evoke God’s Wrath since then and I’d STRONGLY recommend you people didn’t, either.

Remember: God is like a parent. He is a loving, patient parent but he CAN lose his patience at times, when we, his created children, are disobedient.

And all the people that God will send to hell and/or eternal condemnation in the flames someday are those “people” if you will, who no matter HOW many times God tried to warn and/or save them, REFUSED to be warned/saved. So remember that.
