The 7th-Day Sabbath (Saturday): A SIGN of God’s Covenant!

Many “Christian” churches today worship on Sunday, the FIRST day of the week! To many Christians, that is their “Sabbath!” But is that the CORRECT biblical Sabbath? Let us examine:

And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. Moreover also I gave them MY sabbaths, TO BE A SIGN between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them” – [Ezekiel 20: 11-12]

I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow MY sabbaths; and THEY SHALL BE A SIGN between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God – [Ezekiel 20:1 9-20]

“For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it

– [Exodus 20:11]

“Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you” – [Exodus 31:13]

“Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generationsfor a PERPETUAL COVENANT” – [Exodus 31:16]

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made” – [Genesis 2: 2-3]

Hhhmm……There seems to be a SEVERE inconsistency between what the BIBLE says and what “the church” says, regarding the “Biblical Sabbath”, so who’s right? To get a more clearer picture, lets examine some quotes about WHY “the church” worships on Sunday, the FIRST day of the week, instead of Saturday, the 7th day of the week, for some more clues:

Cardinal James Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers (Ayers Publishing, 1978): 108:

“But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify”.

The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957): 50:

Q. Which is the Sabbath day?
A. Saturday is the Sabbath day.
Q. Why Do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.

Chancellor Albert Smith for Cardinal of Baltimore Archdiocese, letter dated February 10, 1920:

“If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath day created by God, which is Saturday. In keeping the Sunday, they are following a law of the Catholic Church”.

Stephen Keenan, Catholic—Doctrinal Catechism 3rd Edition: 174:

Question: Have you any other way of proving the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the 1st day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the 7th day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.

Our Sunday Visitor (February 5, 1950):

“Practically everything Protestants regard as essential or important they have received from the Catholic Church… The Protestant mind does not seem to realize that in accepting the Bible and observing the Sunday, in keeping Christmas and Easter, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church, the Pope“.

Catholic Priest T. Enright, CSSR, Kansas City, MO:

It was the holy Catholic Church that changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday, the 1st day of the week. And it not only compelled all to keep Sunday, but at the Council of Laodicea, AD 364, anathematized those who kept the Sabbath and urged all persons to labor on the 7th day under penalty of anathema.

Catholic Priest T. Enright, CSSR, lecture at Hartford, KS, Feb 18, 1884::

“I have repeatedly offered $1000 to any one who can furnish any proof from the Bible that Sunday is the day we are bound to keep…The Bible says, “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy,” but the Catholic Church says, “No, keep the first day of the week,” and the whole world bows in obedience”.

Cardinal John Newman, An Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine (London: Basil Montague Pickering, 1878): 373::

The use of temples, and these dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasions with branches of trees; incense, lamps, and candles; votive offerings on recovery from illness; holy water; asylums; holydays and seasons…are ALL of pagan origin and sanctified by their adoption into the Church.:

Catholic Record (September 1, 1923):

“The [catholic] Church is above the Bible, and this transference of the Sabbath observance is proof of that fact”.

Pope Leo XIII, Praeclara Gratulationis Publicae (The Reunion of Christendom), June 20, 1894:

“We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty”.

“Pope,” Ferraris’ Ecclesiastic Dictionary:

“The Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God”. [Note: Vicar of God means “Son of God”, the same title that JESUS has!]

American Catholic Quarterly Review (January 1883):

“Sunday…is purely a creation of the Catholic Church”.

Catholic American Sentinel (June 1893):

“Sunday…It is a law of the Catholic Church alone…”

“The Question Box,” The Catholic Universe Bulletin (August 14, 1942): 4:

“The (Catholic) Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her Founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter, the Seventh-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant.”

NOTE: This change from Saturday to Sunday Sabbath was prophesied about in Daniel 7. The great reformer Philipp Melanchton knew this truth five centuries ago. He wrote this:

“…….They have changed God’s laws and turned them into their own traditions to be kept above God’s precepts”.

========================================================

Alright here folks, so what can we conclude from all this? Simple. 5 things:

1). The Roman Catholic Church CHANGED the biblical Sabbath from the 7th day of the week (Saturday) to Sunday (the 1st day of the week).

2). The Roman Catholic Church HAD NO BIBLICAL AUTHORITY TO DO SO!

3). Nearly ALL Protestant churches (except the 7th-day Adventists) have followed suit!

4). The 7th-Day Biblical Sabbath is on SATURDAY, not Sunday!

5). The 7th-Day Biblical Sabbath (Saturday) is A SIGN of God’s Covenant between God/Jesus and his people!

Reading through the bible (from Old to New Testaments), God/Jesus had many “signs” of his covenant between he and his people! One of the signs of his covenant was circumcision! Another sign was his biblical feasts and biblical precepts! But THE MOST important sign of the covenant between he and his people was KEEPING THE 7TH-DAY SABBATH (SATURDAY) HOLY!

So…..are all the Christians out there who are keeping the Sunday Sabbath BREAKING God’s Covenant? The simple answer is YES! (However, most of them are probably unaware of this fact and I pray that Jesus has mercy upon their souls! Afterall, I myself followed the 1st day Sabbath – Sunday – until I became “born again” and came to know better!)

But of all the Christians in the world, just THINK how many are “guilty” (rather they realize it or not) of BREAKING THE BIBLICAL SABBATH (which is Saturday!) That number would have to be in the MILLIONS, possibly BILLIONS! This is SCARY, folks! This is quite sobering!

Jesus says in Hosea 4: 6-7 [Old Testament, Book of Hosea, Chapter 4, Verses 6-7] “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame”. OUCH!

Therefore, Jesus is saying here that BECAUSE Christians (as a whole) have REJECTED his true Jewish gospel and forgotten the “Jewish laws” of God, that he will reject them AND their children and allow them to “spiritually perish”, ALL those who REJECT his biblical laws, his biblical Sabbath AND his biblical holidays and HAVE NO DESIRE to *learn them!* DOUBLE OUCH!

In other words, many people in today’s world claim to KNOW Christ but they don’t truly OBEY CHRIST! For to OBEY Christ actually means to FOLLOW Christ’s biblical commands!

Jesus says in Matthew 5: 17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled”.

In other words, what Jesus is saying here is that the Old Testament laws (minus animal sacrifice, since Jesus eventually became the sacrifice HIMSELF for all of mankind) STILL APPLY! Hebrews 13:8 states “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”. So what does that mean in plain English, folks? It means that Jesus Christ DOES NOT CHANGE and that his biblical laws DO NOT CHANGE!

Therefore, even today in 2018 & beyond, we must STILL follow in the 7th day BIBLICAL SABBATH (SATURDAY) and in the BIBLICAL HOLIDAYS (such as Passover, Tabernacles, Pentecost, etc.) Now, there’s around 2.3 billion (plus or minus) Christians in the world, out of about 7.3 billion people on the planet. And the bible says that ALL of those 2.3 billion or so Christians must OBEY CHRIST’S JEWISH/BIBLICAL LAWS!

And so just how many Christians do you think are actually doing that, these days? How many Christians out there do you think are following the 7th day BIBLICAL Sabbath, are celebrating in the BIBLICAL holidays (Passover, Tabernacles, Pentecost, etc.) and are following the BIBLICAL laws (such as no eating pork, no wearing mixed fabrics, etc.?) Not very many, I can tell you that right now!

“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” – Mark 7:7

Many Christians these days are simply unaware of the fact that they’re profaning the BIBLICAL Sabbath by celebrating in the Sun-day/man-made (Catholic Church) Sabbath! And I pray that the Lord Jesus has mercy upon those folks and that He finds any number of ways to try to reach them with THE TRUTH before it’s too late!

Because MANY Christians, upon learning THE TRUTH about “the church’s” history will GLADLY follow the Lord’s commandments, once they really learn what the Lord’s commands REALLY ARE! Others sit on the fence awhile, comfortably clinging to their own “tradition”, figuring that eventually, they’ll stop their man-made traditions in order to fully follow Christ. And yet others aren’t really sure WHAT to think and waver between two opinions for far too long!

But in fact, in 1 Kings 18:21 it says: “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word”

The fact that the people “answered him not a word” says ALOT! It says that:

A). They didn’t truly know their God, the God of Israel (Jesus Christ Almighty)

B). They had given themselves over to demons/demonic spirits

C). They were full of “confusion”. 1 Corinthians 14:33 proclaims that “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints”.

In other words, the gospel of Jesus Christ (in and of itself) is NOT supposed to be “confusing”. However, all OTHER gospels and all OTHER religions contradict themselves. But Messianic Judaism/Jewish-roots Christianity is the ONLY religion on Earth that does NOT contradict itself! Reason being? It doesn’t have to! Everything is there in place, in neatly divined order and nothing’s out of place.

In other words, our God (the God of the bible) is NOT a God of Chaos but of NEATLY-DEFINED ORDER! From the laws of physics to the complexity of DNA, there is nothing out of place, no what ifs, everything is organized and in place! Everything is unique and has its very own special unique properties!

Another VERY INTERESTING fact from the Old Testament concerning The Sabbath is in Exodus 31:14 – “Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people”.

So in other words, the Lord God considers The 7th-Day Sabbath SO important that he proclaims that ANYONE who profaned it (back in Old Testament times) should be EXECUTED/PUT TO DEATH! OUCH! That’s pretty heavy, folks! Nevertheless, that truly tells us something, here: that tells us that if Jesus considered the profaning of the Sabbath to SUCH a degree in the Old Testament, that he most likely considers it JUST AS “weighty” in the New Testament & beyond! THIS IS SOBERING, FOLKS!

There are SO many Christians out there today that claim “it doesn’t matter on WHAT day you follow as The Sabbath, just AS LONG AS you follow ONE day a week FOR the Sabbath!” Wow! Such strong words! Jesus would likely be SPIRITUALLY APPALLED at those words! But lets start with the first three: “it doesn’t matter”. Well, we know from the bible that it DOES matter, it matters VERY, VERY MUCH! In fact, it mattered SO MUCH in the Old Testament that people were PUT TO DEATH for profaning it! So CLEARLY it DOES matter on WHICH day you follow as The Sabbath!

One interesting paradigm in the bible considers the two cases of Ishmael (Abraham’s son by his Egyptian slave woman, Hagar) and Isaac (his natural-born son by his wife, Sarah). Isaac is PART of the Covenant of God while Ishmael is NOT! Now why is that, do you think? Answer: Ishmael was born out of a time of “sin” (i.e. NOT waiting on God and acting prematurely IN PLACE OF GOD!)

Now what other instance in the bible can we think of where a supposed one of God ACTED PREMATURELY in PLACE OF GOD? Answer: When King Saul went ahead and made the animal sacrifice WITHOUT waiting on the prophet Samuel to arrive! And look what happened to HIM! Abraham, on the other hand, had a true heart for God and was FORGIVEN of his sin of “pre-maturing” the will of God

After Abraham REPENTED of his sin of “pre-maturing the will of God” and decided to WAIT for the will of God, Isaac was born! Therefore, Isaac was born at a time when there was NO sin surrounding the time of his birth! That’s why Isaac got to be a part of God’s Covenant, but Ishmael did NOT! Furthermore, Ishmael MOCKED Isaac and was cast out (along with his mother, Hagar) from the home of Abraham! And this was a foreshadowing of all the people that will be loved but still THROWN OUT of the presense of God at the time of the End! Why? Because they MOCKED the divine providence of God! Make sense?

And the covenant being with Isaac…….? Isaac is a prototype of all of today’s Christians that don’t just BELIEVE in Almighty God but OBEY HIM…….JOYFULLY OBEY HIM! Therefore, Isaac was a foreshadowing of all of today’s Christians that WILL BE/ARE a part of God’s TRUE biblical covenant! And so WHAT, once again, is **THE SIGN** OF that covenant? Answer: It is the keeping of the 7-day Biblical Sabbath (SATURDAY!)

[[P.S.: On a side note, you just KNOW we’re living in the Last Days when even some of the Jews THEMSELVES are trying NOT to keep the Biblical Sabbath Laws!]]

https://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Supreme-court-lays-down-the-law-on-Shabbat-businesses-508479

Therefore, we have a choice: We can CHOOSE to become the spiritual essence of either Ishmael (the “cast out” son) or of Isaac (the “blessed son”). We’re free to make the choice, but what we are NOT free from is the eternal consequence of said choice. So for example, IF we make the WRONG CHOICE (i.e. choose to become the spiritual essence of Ishmael, the “cast out” son), and DIE in that choice, we are NOT free from the eternal lake of fire that awaits us! But if we choose the RIGHT CHOICE (becoming the spiritual essence of Isaac, the BLESSED SON), then we ARE automatically spared from the eternal lake of fire. Make sense, folks?

It is my hope and prayer that you will decide to become an “Isaac” (a 7th-Day Sabbath & biblical feasts/laws keeper) rather than an “Ishmael” (a person that thinks they can mock the God of the bible – rather directly or indirectly – and live their own way and celebrate in their own man-made Sabbaths/laws/feasts). Amen.

The Difference Between True/Genuine Faith Vs. “Going Through The Motions”

I once had a Christian friend say to me that she “didn’t really like going to church because she felt like she was just *going through the motions*!” And those words really got me, for some reason: *going through the motions*. I sat there and thought about it for awhile, trying to ponder what she meant by those words, exactly. And then it hit me! TRADITION. She’s tired of the same, dull, boring TRADITION that’s taking place in churches today. In fact, I can’t blame her. It was honestly why I myself LEFT “the church system” YEARS AGO!

People get dressed up in their Sunday best, pile into the church, sit in pews, and listen to the pastor drone on for about 35 minutes or so. The rest of the time is spent “singing” and “talking about church budgets”. There’s also the “offering plate”, “communion”, etc.

And I’m gonna be truthfully honest, here. The few times that I actually “attempted” to attend actual church services at the local Lutheran church years and years ago, (in order to feel more like an “authentic Christian”), I LIKED hearing about Jesus but I was bored stiff with the overall “sermons” and found myself looking around the church (at the stained-glass windows, at the church organ, at the side of the wall, at anything BUT the pulpit).

And I’d always ask myself, “Why am I so bored, here? Why does it always feel like the same old, same old?” In fact, I even felt GUILTY for “feeling bored” inside a church. I had thought to myself at the time, “Jesus must be really mad at me, NOW! How offended would he be if he found out I felt bored stiff during church sermons?”

In fact, once as a little kid, I even remember saying to my mom one time on the way home from school, “church is boring!” [I went to a Christian pre-school, even though my folks weren’t church-goers, which was weird. I guess my mom was more “Agnostic” back then, sending us there in a “just in case God’s true” scenario]. My mom asked me why. I said, “because all they say is (speaking in a monotone) “Jesus Christ is Lord”.

Now…..I didn’t make that statement to mock Jesus in ANY way, shape or form! What I was TRYING to draw attention to, on that particular day, is more or less that “pastors make Jesus boring“. But the Jesus I KNOW is NOT boring in ANY way, shape or form! The Jesus I KNOW parted the Red Sea, created ALL living things and has the ability to shake the Earth & the Waters with just the mere SOUND of his VOICE! And as I got older, those words I spoke when I was younger about “church is boring” really seemed to resonate deep within me and my soul!

But in fact, NOTHING about today’s “Modern-Day Christianity” is even biblical! It’s sad, folks but it’s true! Church “buildings” aren’t biblical, church “sermons” aren’t biblical, sitting in pews is not biblical, “offering plates” are not biblical, choirs are not “biblical”, the Sunday Sabbath IN AND OF ITSELF is not biblical, getting “dressed up” for “church” is not biblical, “going to church SERVICE” is not biblical, basically, NOTHING about Modern-Day Christianity is BIBLICAL!

Therefore, all of the people that find church “boring” (rather they realize it or not) are actually ON to something! Something deep, deep within their spirits must “sense” that something seems “amiss” in the “churches” today! For example, God created for 6 days, then rested on and CONSECRATED the 7th DAY! So why do “churches” today unbiblically meet on the FIRST day of the week (Sunday?) For Sunday was the very FIRST day of creation!

For another example, “The Church” celebrates New Year’s, Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. But tell me. What do Easter bunnies, painted eggs, Santa Claus, Reindeer, snowmen, confetti and Halloween costumes have to do with JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY? Answer: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

“But Jesus was born on December 25”, some say. Really? Does it say that in the bible? What bible are these folks reading from? Because MY KJV bible doesn’t mention ANYTHING about it being “winter” when Jesus was born! [However, MY KJV bible DOES mention how we’re supposed to instead commemorate Jesus’s death/resurrection/ascension back up to heaven during what’s known as “The Lord’s Supper”!]

And that’s just the “Protestant” way of things……..For if a person is CATHOLIC, it gets EVEN WORSE!

Catholics believe in “Purgatory” (NOT IN BIBLE), “Indulgences” (NOT IN BIBLE), “Praying to Saints” (NOT IN BIBLE), “Jesus had no brothers or sister” (BIBLE PROVES HE DID), “Virgin Mary was the ONLY being born by Virgin Birth” (NOT IN BIBLE – AND HOW DOES THAT EVEN COMPUTE, ANYWAYS? For they couldn’t BOTH be surely born by Virgin Birth…….because if so, that would make Mary God and she’s NOT GOD! Luke 1:46-47 PROVES THIS beyond all shadow of a doubt, people!)

But on to my next point………the “difference” between true, genuine faith and what I call “going-through-the-motions”/manufactured faith.

First, we’ll take a look at the example of King Saul in the Old Testament. At the very beginning, he was very humble, down to Earth, and had a STRONG faith in God Almighty! But as the chapters of 1 Samuel 12+ wear on, Saul starts to get arrogant, proud, disobedient and FEARFUL.

He starts out as THIS:

“And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the Lord hath wrought salvation in Israel” – 1 Samuel 11:13

Comes to THIS:

“Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor” – 1 Samuel 28:7

And ends up like THIS:

And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul. And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers. Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it1 Chronicles 10:2-4

So what happened between 1 Samuel 12 and 1 Samuel 28?

The first thing that happened is that King Saul did NOT wait on the Lord’s prophet Samuel to offer a sacrifice unto the Lord. The 2nd thing Saul did was REFUSE to kill all the Amalekites and their cattle/etc., whom the Lord SPECIFICALLY commanded to be WIPED OUT!

So see……it all started out with what King Saul thought was a “minor thing” and then, over time, his sins became GREATER and GREATER and his faith became LESS AND LESS! In fact, it would probably be safe to say that King Saul’s “spiritual relationship” with the Lord during that time (from 1 Samuel 12 to 1 Samuel 28) became a thing of OBLIGATION, instead of LOVING OBEDIENCE!

That’s why many people sitting in church pews today feel like they’re “just going through the motions”, because THEY ARE! They’re not truly challenged in their lives to keep the faith and to LOVINGLY obey the Lord and his Written Word! Instead, they’re “spoon-fed” a watered-down/feel-good/cheery message about the bible that doesn’t talk about hell, eternal condemnation, the book of Revelation, bible prophecy, REPENTANCE of sin and/or “getting right with the Lord”. In fact, most church “services” today rarely talk about Jesus AT ALL! It’s more of a “be a good person and that’s good enough” for God type of WATERED-DOWN BLASPHEMOUS MESSAGE! ;(

HOWEVER……an example in the Old Testament of a man who DID have complete and total faith in the Lord is ABRAHAM. Genesis, Chapter 22 in the Old Testament tells us the story of how God TESTED Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his own son, Isaac.

Originally, (BEFORE Genesis 22), Abram (BEFORE God changed his name to “Abraham”) and Sarai (BEFORE God changed her name to “Sarah”) weren’t able to have children due to Sarai being “barren” in her old age. Therefore, it was Sarai’s idea for Abram to marry her handmaiden, Hagar, an Egyptian, which Abram did…..and THAT son’s name was Ishmael. However, Abram was still sad he had no true “genetic heir” and cried out to God in prayer about it. So God opened up Sarai’s womb and him and Sarah had Isaac, the “miracle child” promised by God.

However, in Genesis, chapter 22, Isaac is now a teenager (the bible implies) and God is now worried that Abraham loves Isaac more than he loves HIM (Almighty God). So God decides to test Abraham’s loving, faithful obedience by asking him to sacrifice his “promised son” Isaac!

However, in the biblical narrative, we KNOW that Abraham probably doesn’t like what he has to do, but also that he has FAITH. Because when he and Isaac get to the bottom of Mount Moriah, Genesis 22:5 states, “And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you”.

Just think of what type of FAITH Abraham have to have had! For it would’ve taken him TOTAL FAITH to do what he did. [And please remember that the near-sacrifice Isaac is a prototype/foreshadowing for what would someday become God’s sacrifice of his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ/Yeshua, for all of mankind! As Abraham didn’t hold back his only son from God, God did not hold back his only son from US!]

However, Genesis 22:10-12 further goes on to state: And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me!”

Further on, we read in Genesis 22: 13-18 how the Lord decided to BLESS ABRAHAM, as a RESULT of his loving obedience and his faith:

“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice”.

So from these two biblical examples, we can learn what having true, GENUINE FAITH is, and what having “lukewarm/going-through-the-motions” faith is.

True/GENUINE Faith: Knowing that Yeshua/Jesus Christ has your back, no matter what

Lukewarm/going-though-the-motions: “Maybe Jesus will save me someday on the day of Judgement, maybe he won’t”

See the difference here, folks? Many folks ask the fateful question, “Why has God/Jesus forsaken me?” But ya know what, people? It’s US who forsake HIM!

How? Simple. We don’t have “time” to read our bibles or pray but we DO have time to watch Netflix, text our bestfriend, listen to the radio, etc. We don’t have “time” to donate to the needy because we’re too wrapped up in our OWN lives and “financial woes”. We don’t have “time” to repent of our sins because we got to clean the house, go to work, pay our bills, hang out with our friends, read our favorite novel, pick up the kids from soccer practice, you get the idea……….

So I leave you with THIS: What type of “faith” do you have? Do YOU have the type of faith, where, you knew if you died today, that you’d go to spend eternity with Jesus? Or do you have the type of “faith” where you’re not sure?

Do YOU have the type of faith that’s SO strong, that not even a person pointing a gun at your head and/or threatening to behead you will make you DENY your faith in Jesus Christ? Or would you “squirm” at the first hint of a threat on your LIFE?

Do YOU have the type of faith that’s SO strong, that you share your faith in Jesus with others? Or do you tend to “cower” about your faith in Jesus towards others and try to “bury Jesus” in your life by not letting the name of Jesus be well-known in your life to others?

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” – Hebrews 11:6

What type of faith do YOU have? For IF you don’t have a strong, GENUINE type faith, TODAY is the day to pray to GET that type of faith! Pray the following prayer with me:

“Almighty Yeshua/Lord Jesus, my faith has NOT been where it needs to be, lately. I’ve had a lukewarm faith. But please, bit by bit and little by little, please REMOVE my lukewarm faith and replace it with UNBREAKABLE FAITH IN YOU, EVEN IN THE FACE OF DEATH/TORCHURE SOMEDAY. Please give me a faith and trust in you that’s SO STRONG, that NOTHING or NO-ONE can break it! Thank-you, Lord. Amen”

And pray that prayer with all your HEART, SOUL, MIND, BODY AND STRENGTH and MEAN that prayer with ALL YOUR HEART AND SOUL! TRUST IN THE LORD TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYER FOR UNBREAKABLE FAITH AND HE WILL ANSWER YOU! 😉

GREAT AND MIGHTY IS OUR LORD & GOD! HE PARTED THE RED SEA, HE WALKED ON THE WATER, AND HE SPOKE THE VERY UNIVERSE INTO EXISTENCE WITH JUST THE MERE SOUND OF HIS VOICE! GREAT, MIGHTY AND POWERFUL IS HIS NAME! THE NAME ABOVE ALL OTHER NAMES! 😉

When Someone Stabs You In The Back……

How many of us have ever had someone proverbially stab us in the back?

A friend? A coworker? An ex-boyfriend/girlfriend? A possible family member? Or even a complete stranger?

And how did we feel when they very first did so?

Our first reaction was likely shock and anger, followed by a sense of hurt, resentment & disillusionment. In our younger day, we might’ve thought of *revenge tactics* to get back at them. But in our older day, we slowly come to realize that two wrongs don’t make a right and also that there’s usually something going on with a person psychologically or emotionally if they hurt someone like that.

But you got to realize something. Nine times out of ten, it’s not ABOUT you. It’s really about them and their character. Sometimes someone is having a bad day and happens to “snap” or say something/do something unkind to you. Sometimes someone else is jealous of what YOU have and decide to take it out on you, somehow. And sometimes, a person doesn’t even REALIZE they’re being mean/unkind to you.

Many people who feel insecure in their own lives will go about trying to put down other people trying to make themselves feel better. But that doesn’t mean you have to partake in their drama. No. You can be better than that.

When Jesus Christ died on the cross for forgiveness of mankind’s sins, he KNEW how humans would be like after that. He knew the future that would encapsulate the “culture” surrounding the passage of Matthew 24:12-13: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Just like he KNEW that many people, in the End of Days, would stab each other in the back and constantly try to “one up” one another (either for the pure revenge of it or just for the mere “fun” of it).

And though there is the popular saying “don’t get mad, get EVEN”, Jesus Christ would likely say to each of us something along the lines of: “I understand if you’re mad/hurt about this but don’t let your anger get the best of you and do NOT get even”. The Lord God said in the bible in Romans 12:19 (KJV) Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord”

In other words, if we HATE someone that hurt us,  or go out of our way to try to hurt THEM, the only person we’re hurting is ourselves. It takes SO much time and mental energy to HATE someone. But it takes very little time and energy to try to forgive someone. Afterall, we’re all human, we ALL make mistakes.

And besides, that person might not have realized they’ve hurt us. And if they hurt us *intentionally*, well, then it’s really themselves that they’re hurting. Cause no true person in their RIGHT MIND would have to go to such great lengths to hurt someone unless they themselves were hurting from within. Cause remember…the old saying really IS true: “misery loves company”.

Though some people that LIKE to “one up” people seem to feel pretty good about themselves from the onset. But lets face it. No truly CONFIDENT person would have to hurt someone in order to prove their worth. For if they were TRULY confident in themselves, they wouldn’t HAVE to prove anything, see? Because they’d technically already KNOW their self-worth, without having to prove or justify it.

But I see that type of behavior in people all the time. Female friends try to steal each other’s boyfriends. Brothers try to steal their brothers’ girlfriend(s). Children/teens are rude/mean to their parents or vice versa. Coworkers try to rip each other to shreds when the boss is not looking. Ex-boyfriends and girlfriends acting all “catty” with one another, trying to make one another jealous…Or even people on Youtube MAJORLY mocking others on Youtube, even.

We are now living in the End of Days and what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 24:12-13 (New Testament, book of Matthew, chapter 24, verse 12-13)“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved”.

Proverbs 20:22 says: “Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee”

Plus the Lord’s Prayer states the following:

“Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen”

“So what does THAT mean?”, you may ask yourselves. (The part in which I particularly emphasized and underlined, that is).

It means that if WE want to be forgiven by Jesus Christ for all the wrong things that WE ourselves have ever said or done throughout our lifetime, that WE must forgive OTHERS that have said or done wrong/hurtful things towards US.

And I know that’s easier said than done. But the good thing about the Lord Jesus Christ is that he will ALWAYS answer a sincere prayer.

If there’s someone in your life who has majorly hurt you and you’re having trouble forgiving that person, then take it to Jesus. Pray to him the following:

“Lord, I’m still very hurt and angry over this person who has hurt me. Please help me with forgiving this person as I am still struggling with that. I don’t WANT to hate this person or be mad at them anymore. Please help me Lord. Amen”

And the Lord will slowly help you forgive that person. And once you truly forgive a person and are able to move on with your life, it is the most peaceful, happiest feeling in the world. It’s like the Lord Jesus Christ has set your soul free from the *sinful bondage* of hate/resentment/anger.

Note: EVEN IF somebody has already passed on or you’ve lost contact with that person, you can STILL forgive that person or those people and be released from the sinful bond of anger/resentment/hatred. Just pray: “Lord, I know it’s too late at this point to have an Earthly reconciliation with this person, but please cleanse my heart and mind and allow me to fully forgive this person. Thank-you, Lord. Amen”.

And if it’s a case where you just can’t seem to forgive this person, no matter WHAT you do, (be they dead/lost contact with or alive), pray the following prayer :

“Lord, this person has done SO much to hurt me, I’m STILL angry, hurt, disillusioned, scared. I don’t know if I can ever forgive this person or not, on my own. Please heal me and cleanse me from within so that I can someday forgive this person with no sinful burden of anger in my heart. I don’t WANT to hate anymore! Please help me get rid of the hate in my heart so that I can forgive this person. Amen”.

And pray and believe the prayer with ALL your heart, ALL your soul and ALL your mind and the Lord Jesus WILL cleanse you and help you forgive that person/people! MARK MY WORDS!

See, cause if you CONTINUE to hate someone for hurting you without forgiving them, not ONLY will Jesus Christ not forgive YOU for all YOUR sins throughout your lifetime [Jesus said during the Sermon on the Mount that hate is = to murder in our hearts!] but the hate and resentment will just eat AWAY at you, night and day. Sooner or later, you will start to hate everything and EVERYONE. You will become extremely pessimistic and bitter and find no joy in ANYTHING. Your life will hardly seem worth living.

But if you can learn to forgive someone for hurting you (with the Lord Jesus’s divine help, ofcourse), then your soul will be SET FREE from all that *negative energy* trying to weigh you down. You will feel relaxed, as if a HUGE weight has been lifted off your shoulders. You will feel content and free and joyous in the Lord and joyous in your life. Plus you will be better able to start preaching the gospel again and maybe even having some more opportunities to spread the gospel. Your spirit will feel *spiritually revived*.

Sometimes people are depressed and got problems in their life. So they subconsciously try to hurt or lie to others to try to make themselves feel better. Yet, others are sometimes jealous of what we have and what they feel they do NOT have. But regardless the reason, NEVER let it get to you! Not only does Jesus Christ say we must FORGIVE the people that hurt us in our lifetime but we must also PRAY for them.

We must pray that Satan will lose his grip on their souls and that the Lord will open up their eyes and make them see what they are doing and why it is wrong.

[[And ya know what? Many a Satanist, Wiccan, Atheist, Scientist, Agnostic, criminal, etc. were brought to faith in God by the DILIGENT prayers of the loved ones and/or Christians around them. So never say never. For NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH THE LORD! 😉

In fact, remember that section of the Old Testament that talks about Abraham and his wife Sarai and how God told Abraham that his wife Sarai was to have a baby (even in her old age?) And how both she and Abraham laughed at the idea on separate occasions and of how God said in Genesis 18: 13-14: And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son”.

On the other hand, we should never TOLERATE repeated bad behavior from others. There’s a difference between forgiving someone and getting out of a bad situation.

But no matter the situation, one thing is clear. Jesus Christ hears ALL the prayers of his faithful (those who strive to live by his standards in the bible and beyond).

Even if you DO resent someone right now or you feel like you’re 20 million miles away from Jesus Christ right now, or him from you, pray to be restored to him. Pray that he’ll help you forgive people or overcome whatever sin you’re struggling with right now. Time is of the essence.

The sooner you forgive people in your life, and the sooner you become restored to Jesus Christ again, the better.

I pray for all the souls that read this and pray that each soul that reads this is either brought back to Jesus Christ or comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ before it’s too late and their souls are lost for eternity. Amen.
