Have you ever wondered why songs (in general) have a long “introduction” before the lyrics come about? Or also why a certain song and/or songs get stuck in your head all the time? Do you think this is all just mere COINCIDENCE?

Songs (by nature) are/were DESIGNED (by the spirit world) to put the listener into a VERY, VERY DEEP “trance-like meditative state”. The question is, does it put them into a GOOD trance (where they are motivated to worship the Lord Jesus, in spirit and in truth) or does it put them in a BAD trance (where it encourages a person to say/think/do things that go AGAINST the bible?)

I’ve honestly had songs (and/or parts of songs) that were stuck in my head for HOURS, DAYS, and WEEKS! And I kept having to ask myself WHY! And then, when I finally succeeded in getting THAT particular song unstuck out of my head, YET ANOTHER song would get stuck in my head for DAYS on end!

Or worse yet, I sometimes get the case of what I call “SONG FEVER”, where I have to listen to a song over and over and over again…….and if I DON’T listen to the current song on repeat, my mind starts to go stir-crazy! “What is this?”, I aggravatingly think to myself. “This is madness! What the hey!” And I used to think it was just mere “coincidence”. Little did I know it is actually HIGH SPIRITUAL WARFARE that I was/am experiencing! (A warfare of THE MIND!)

Take tribal African voodoo, for instance. Many “pop songs” are today BASED on voodoo (yes, voodoo!). Lets look through a few examples, here…..

1). “Sympathy for the Devil” by Rolling Stones, 1968

Note: If you slow it down and listen to the beginning, it’s CLEARLY voodoo beats being played in the song, followed by what sounds like “monkey/jungle calls”. The “monkey calls” are probably some hidden thing to “summon demons/demon spirits” and/or to display the “theory of Evolution”, somehow.

And here’s another VERY popular song from the 80’s which has DEFINITE voodoo in it, from start to finish (it even has “Satanic growls” in it!)

2). “Gloria Estefan – Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” – 1987

There’s also THIS song (which clearly has voodoo beats in the background, as well, starting at 0:40 and again at 0:55):

3). “Come & Get It” by Selena Gomez, 2013 or so

In fact, nearly ALL “popular songs” of today have what’s called “Syncopation”. Now………“What’s syncopation?”, some may ask. Answer: it is basically a “disturbance” or “interruption” of the REGULAR, natural flow of rhythm. In other words, it takes “natural rhythm” and makes it UN-NATURAL rhythm (in other words, rhythm’s that off-beat).

Here, Christian Berdahl explains it in a little more detail:

So basically, whenever you get a song stuck in your head, 9 times out of 10, it’s because Satan and demons are behind it! Remember, Satan is BEHIND the “Music & Entertainment Industry”, today! Even most of today’s “CHRISTIAN MUSIC” today is “suspect”. Why? Because it honestly sounds no different than “contemporary” music!

Why? Because it ALSO (as a whole today) uses “Syncopation”, just like all of today’s “worldly music” does. Don’t believe me? Do an experiment. Flip through all the car radio stations. Then go to the Christian music station. Notice anything different? My guess is no. If you didn’t know AHEAD of time that it WAS the Christian station, would you have mistaken it for a “secular” radio station? Be honest with yourself!

Satan is “implied” in the bible to have been “full of music” (BEFORE “the fall from heaven”). Therefore, Satan knows music like his back hand. He knows it inside and out. And so it’s really no wonder THAT he uses “music” as one of his primary weapons to “deceive the masses”.

Okay, now I want you to conduct another “experiment”. Listen to your “favorite song”. How does the song make you FEEL? Does it humble you before the Lord Jesus Christ and make you want to worship him? Or does it make you think of OTHER things, besides Jesus and the bible? Be COMPLETELY honest with yourselves!

And if it’s CHRISTIAN music you’re listening to, does it REALLY encourage you to worship Jesus, in spirit and in truth? Or do all the back-beats, etc. DISTRACT YOU from doing so and make you more focused on the beat, rather than on the message? Be honest with yourself!

Many think that ALL “Christian music” is just fine and dandy. But only most recently have folks come to realize that EVEN “Christian music” is suspect these days (sadly enough). So don’t fool yourselves! Just because a piece of Christian music has the label “Christian” on it does NOT make it “truly Christian”!

For example, many “Christian” female vocalists sing all “sensual”, as though they’re singing to a LOVER, instead of Jesus Christ! (I’m sorry, but it’s true!) And with all the drum beats, back-beats, break-beats, clap-beats, I’d never know most of these songs were a supposedly “Christian” song!

Examples?

1). “Lauren Daigle – First” (This is sung the way a woman would sing to a lover!)

2). “TobyMac – Feel It” (This is sung as though the goal is to be like Bruno Mars!)

ETC….

But then again, what is a TRUE “Christian song”, by definition? Answer: It is one that completely clears the mind (in a GOOD sense), has NO “syncopation” or “background beats/distractions” and ENCOURAGES the Christian listener to worship Jesus (in spirit and in truth):

“Let Them See You” by JJ Weeks Band

Notice the difference there, folks? But again, I’m not personally judging or bashing the two above Christian artists (only Jesus knows their hearts), I’m just saying that the “syncopated-type music” and the *sultry*-sounding lyrics distracts from THE ACTUAL MESSAGE OF SALVATION!

There’s even this whole movement among the Christians today that we (as a whole), must become more “wordly” in our music and in our messages in order to “draw in more people from the world/those that are unsaved”.

HOWEVER, WHEN Christians or “the church” become more “worldly” in their “music” or in their “doings”, they’re actually doing themselves a SERIOUS disservice, as it’s showing the “worldly/unsaved people of the world” the message that: “Hey, Christians are just as worldly as WE are, so I guess there’s no real need to change and repent of our sins!

Even “country music” is not immune from Satan’s grip!

But in fact, let me take this one step further. A popular music artist (who openly worships Satan) has come out and admitted that each of her performances is “a sermon”. Interesting. Therefore, if we can apply her words to ALL secular music these days, and ALL secular music is “individual sermons”, then it most certainly sheds light on the fact that SATAN DESIGNED MUSIC AS ***SPIRITUAL WARFARE!***

Now that’s a tough message for most Christians to grasp (especially those born in the 80s and 90s!) They like their Def Leppard, Bruce Springstein, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Madonna, REO Speedwagon, Mister Mister, Poison, TLC, Metallica, Motley Crue, etc. But rarely do they ever look at all the symbolism (and “spiritual agendas”) BEHIND the music!

Most people might thinking that listening to music is an “innocent thing”. But believe me folks, most music was designed by Satan & his demons for ***HIGH SPIRITUAL WARFARE!!!!!!!***!!! And not only that, but did you know that nearly ALL music artists sell their souls to the Devil for money, fortune & fame? (It’s true!) Don’t believe me? Watch the following “rocumentary”, as it WILL open up your eyes as to what’s REALLY going on behind the scenes of the music industry & L.A./Hollywood!

Here is parts 1 through 5 on Youtube:

Now…..am I saying that ALL music is bad? No, ofcourse not. Music has been shown in studies to improve mood, sleep quality, memory, brain activity, etc. However, one should be more mindful from now on about just WHAT type of music they listen to. Because remember that music was designed by Satan for HIGH SPIRITUAL WARFARE! Remember that Satan USES music to “deceive the masses!” Plus remember that Satan uses music to try to take you AWAY from God/Jesus Christ!

But one of the BEST ways to “test” a song is to critically examine the LYRICS! (Please also remember that many popular songs of today have lyrics with “hidden meanings!”) Critically examine the lyrics and then ask yourself if it’s something you should be listening to or not. But again, don’t just look at the lyrics, examine the BEAT of the song, as well.

Example: If it’s a “Christian song” but has a “hip hop/break-beat” (and music video) that’s set up like a Bruno Mars song, then that should tell you something right there. Or if it’s a “Christian song” but you’re more focused on the “beat” or “the drums” or the “artist/sultry voice” than the “message”, then Houston, we’ve got a problem!

After watching both documentaries (both Christian Berdahl’s “The Distraction Dilemna” and “They Sold Their Souls For Rock N’ Roll”), my spiritual eyes were thoroughly opened and so NOW, when I flip through the radio stations and I hear songs that Satan originally intended to deceive people with, I am now armed with the spiritual knowledge of what the “true meanings” of those songs are and I am no longer deceived BY them! And trust me, it’s nothing short of a spiritually liberating feeling in Christ!

So……what types of music SHOULD a true born-again Christian be listening to, you may ask? Well, here’s my personal, spiritual recommendations:

1). Christian music that uplifts your spirit and ENCOURAGES you to worship Jesus in spirit and in truth (In other words, music that has you TRULY focused on the gospel/Jesus and NOT on the voice, the beat or the “rhythm”)

2). Romantic love songs that do NOT glorify fornication or anything else that’s unbiblical

3). Classical or uplifting instrumentals

I myself for years & years had been a long-time fan of Trance/Electronic, etc. music. But after critically examining the fact that if you slow it down, it sounds like a slow, repetitive voodoo beat highly spiritually disturbs me!

In fact, I even said a troubled-in-my-heart prayer to Jesus about it: Jesus, does it displease you that I occasionally listen to Trance/Electronic music, etc? and the answer I seemed to get back from him is THIS: “Does it encourage you to worship me at all? Or does it distract you & make you think of OTHER things, besides ME?”

Okay folks, I felt CONVICTED! And ever since then, I’ve severely limited my Trance/etc. listening! Because NOW, any time I listen to Trance etc. music, I can FEEL Jesus’s spiritual gaze upon me as if to say, “Feeling distracted, are we?” and I just can’t enjoy that type of music anymore! It just feels…….wrong!

Now……we’ve all heard that LUST can be a temptation or that TV/video games/food/drink can be a temptation. But can MUSIC also be a temptation? Answer: ABSOLUTELY! For after being “spiritually convicted” not to listen to Trance, etc. music anymore, I can’t tell ya HOW many times I’ve been “tempted” to listen to it! (And yes, sometimes I’ve given IN to the temptation to listen to it and then felt guilty & ashamed, afterwards!)

Like, I really have to fight the urge to NOT listen to it, sometimes! It used to come as a natural habit to me…….Turn on the computer, hit the playlist, and give it a whirl! Believe me, it takes ALOT of spiritual discipline to NOT listen to our favorite music that actually spiritually DISTRACTS US and takes us AWAY from the gospel/Jesus Christ! I had to learn that the hard way!

Non-fornicating love songs, classical or uplifting instrumentals might not “seem” like they fully glorify Jesus. However……non-fornicating love songs can remind us of Jesus’s love for his church, while classical or uplifting instrumentals can remind us of the beauty of God’s creation, especially of “musical scales” in general. Many people don’t realize this but “music” is actually composed of mathematical algorithms! And our God (the God of the bible) is no doubt a “mathematical God!”

But that aside, did you know that they did a study on “plant growth” vs. “music”. And not surprisingly enough, when “plants” listened to classical music, they THRIVED! But yet, when plants listened to “death metal”, they withered up and DIED! (And if I remember correctly, BOTH types of music were played at the exact same volume, in the study!)

Therefore, it stands to reason: if “plants” (which are “living”) thrive on classical music, why wouldn’t WE? Studies have shown, for example, that listening to classical music before a test can increase test scores! (It would be interesting to see how plants responded to the JJ Weeks Band or non-fornicating love songs!)

But again, I digress. The moral of the story here is that MUSIC AFFECTS OUR SOULS – either for the positive or the negative. Therefore, it’s up to us to try to only listen to music that UPLIFTS our minds, hearts, bodies & spirits IN Jesus and that does NOT distract us from the gospel in any way, shape or form! I hope this post has given you something to think about, when it comes to music! What you listen to really DOES affect you SPIRITUALLY – rather you realize it or not! So choose wisely! Amen.
