Beware: The “Disguised” Devil in Plain Site!

Many Catholics (and even non-Catholics alike) just LOVE Pope Francis and think he’s “the greatest thing since sliced bread”. But what MANY people don’t realize (specifically, many Christians, Jews and Catholics themselves), is that MANY, MANY things he says and does actually goes AGAINST the bible and AGAINST Jesus Christ! Don’t believe me? Lets examine many of the PERSONAL QUOTES/BELIEFS of Pope Francis (Papa Francesco):

• “‘Reading Genesis we imagine that God is ‘a wizard with a magic wand’ capable of doing all things, he said. ‘But it is not so. He created life and let each creature develop according to the natural laws [Evolution] which he had given each one.’”

• [The Catholic Church no longer teaches creationism – the belief that God created the world in six days – and says that the account in the book of Genesis is an allegory for the way God created the world]
• “Each of us has a vision of good and of evil. We have to encourage people to move towards what they think is good… Everyone has his own idea of good and evil and must choose to follow the good and fight evil as he conceives them. That would be enough to make the world a better place.”
• “Since many of you do not belong to the Catholic Church and others are non-believers, from the bottom of my heart I give this silent blessing to each and every one of you, respecting the conscience of each one of you but knowing that each one of you is a child of God.”
• “From my point of view, God is the light that illuminates the darkness, even if it does not dissolve it, and a spark of divine light is within each of us.”
• “If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge? We shouldn’t marginalize people for this. They must be integrated into society.” [Note: I’m pretty sure he’s talking about those actually LIVING the lifestyle, not those “celebate” ones who struggle with same-sex attraction but still desperately want a spiritual relationship with Christ!] 
• “A church without women would be like the apostolic college without Mary. The Madonna is more important than the apostles, and the church herself is feminine, the spouse of Christ and a mother.”
• “The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! ‘Father, the atheists?’ Even the atheists. Everyone!”
• “Christians who avoid taking risks out of concern for the Ten Commandments as suffering from “cowardliness,” warning that such people become “paralyzed” and unable to “go forward”
• PLUS MANY, MORE MORE!!!!!!!! 

Now tell me, people…….If the Roman Catholic POPE (in this particular case, Francis) believes and practices things that go AGAINST the bible, then what does that say about the Roman Catholic Church’s theology/practices, in and of ITSELF? Again, lets examine the evidence…..lets examine what the Roman Catholic Church (and its theology/beliefs/practices) has to say about ITSELF:

Cardinal James Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers (Ayers Publishing, 1978): 108: “But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify“

The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957): 50:

Q. Which is the Sabbath day?
A. Saturday is the Sabbath day.
Q. Why Do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.

Chancellor Albert Smith for Cardinal of Baltimore Archdiocese, letter dated February 10, 1920: “If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath day by God, which is Saturday. In keeping the Sunday, they are following a law of the Catholic Church“

Stephen Keenan, Catholic—Doctrinal Catechism 3rd Edition: 174:

Question: Have you any other way of proving the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

Answer: “Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the 1st day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the 7th day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority“.

Our Sunday Visitor (February 5, 1950): “Practically everything Protestants regard as essential or important they have received from the Catholic Church… The Protestant mind does not seem to realize that in accepting the Bible and observing the Sunday, in keeping Christmas and Easter, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church, the Pope”

Louis Gaston Segur, Plain Talk about the Protestantism of To-Day (London: Thomas Richardson and Son, 1874): 213: “Thus the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is a homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the (Catholic) Church”.

The Catholic Mirror (September 23, 1893): ”The Catholic Church, for over one thousand years before the existence of a Protestant, by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday…The Adventists are the only body of Christians with the Bible as their teacher, who can find no warrant in its pages for the change of day from the seventh to the first. Hence their appellation, “Seventh-day Adventists.”

Catholic Record (September 1, 1923): “The [Catholic] Church is above the Bible, and this transference of the Sabbath observance is proof of that fact”

Pope Leo XIII, Praeclara Gratulationis Publicae (The Reunion of Christendom), June 20, 1894: 
”We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty“

“Pope,” Ferraris’ Ecclesiastic Dictionary: “The Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God”

But people, the point I want to make is THIS:

1. The Roman Catholic Church (in and of itself – outside of its Fight for Pro-Life) is UNBIBLICAL
2. Pope Francis’s “liberal theology” is UNBIBLICAL
3. The Roman Catholic Church MIXES TRUTH WITH LIES (i.e. The Fight For Pro-Life Vs. “Bowing Down to Idols & Graven Images’, etc.)
4. The Pope AGREES with the UNBIBLICAL “religions” of “climate change”, “ecumenicalism”, “evolution”, etc.
5. The Pope will actually (unfortunately) HELP bring about the *reign* of the ANTICHRIST! 
6. The Pope (& the Roman Catholic Church) are STILL persecuting the TRUE SAINTS of God (those who not only BELIEVE in the bible from Genesis to Revelation + 1611 KJV Apocrypha, but those who TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST *ALONE* AND THAT ADHERE TO the bible’s contents and warnings!)
7. Pope Francis (who unfortunately himself is deceived, already) is/has been/will continue to SPIRITUALLY DECEIVE MANY
8. There’s VERY good biblical evidence that the Roman Catholic Church (i.e. The Vatican) is the either the Whore and/or Beast System of Revelation! 

But remember: The Devil’s goal is to KILL, STEAL & DESTROY (lives, hearts, bodies, AND souls!) He doesn’t come with a hellish face, horns and a pitchfork, people! He comes IN DISGUISE! And what better disguise than RIGHT *INSIDE* THE CHURCH, RIGHT INSIDE THE *VATICAN ITSELF?* Think about it, folks!

When the Pope VERY FIRST “came into office”, sort’ve speak, he seemed very mild, likeable and down to Earth. All the Catholics everywhere (and even Christian themselves) seemed to love him! (But in the back of many liberal’s minds, they were hoping to, unfortunately, “use the Pope” for THEIR left-wing philosophy/causes!) And as time has wore on over the years, he’s actually BECOME more and more BOLD and UNBIBLICAL in his “stances” on issues such as “evolution”, “abortion”, “adultery”, etc. (Quite simply put, he’s been deceived by Satan and those on the left!) 

Now…….do I think the Pope is THE ANTICHRIST talked about in Revelation? Not exactly. Although I DO think there’s a very good biblical possibility that he could be THE FALSE PROPHET talked about in the book of Revelation! Because the bible says that’s EXACTLY what the FALSE PROPHET will do……LIE TO PEOPLE and make them THINK that what he’s saying/doing and thinking is BIBLICAL, when in actuality, it’s really NOT!

But the bible HINTS (in the book of Revelation in the New Testament) that both THE BEAST (Antichrist/Antichrist System) AND THE FALSE PROPHET will have SUCH power of persuasion that MANY UPON MANY will be DECEIVED! (ETERNALLY DECEIVED!)

In fact, just LOOK how many people today are ALREADY DECEIVED by “liberalism” into thinking that “homosexuality/sodomy/gay marriage/transgenderism”, “abortion”, “adultery”, “cohabiting and/or sex outside of or before marriage” is OK….When just a decade or so ago, it would’ve been UNTHINKABLE in most Christian people’s minds!

But in fact, a quote from George Orwell really gets me every time and that’s THIS: “The people will believe what the media TELLS them they believe!“

And The Pope & The Vatican are ALL OVER THE MEDIA! In fact, just like with Barack Obama, the media is having “quite the lovefest” with Pope Francis & The Vatican. I’m almost just as quick to blithely ask the liberal liberal media: “So….when’s *the WEDDING?*” (between they and the Pope/Vatican…..)

No, but in ALL seriousness…..one (rather liberal or not) can NOT deny the fact that the media is just DROOLING (as a collective whole) over Pope Francis & The Vatican! Seems like every other day I’m reading an article about Pope Francis this, or Vatican that, etc. Not to mention that I’ve ALSO taken notice of something: why are all the U.S. EVANGELICAL LEADERS (Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, etc.) and WORLD LEADERS meeting with the Pope? Why, INDEED? It kind’ve makes a person wonder, doesn’t it?

But then again, it should really come as NO SURPRISE since The Pope/The Vatican will have an INTEGRAL PART in the soon coming ONE WORLD ORDER! The Jesuit Vatican is where they will likely set up “headquarters” for the One World Gov’t, One World Religion and One World Economy…..or at the very least, the One World Religion part of it. WAKE UP, PEOPLE! The Jesuits (as a whole) are EVIL! They (as a whole) are Satan’s “henchmen” in disguise!

People of the world (as a whole — SPECIFICALLY Jews *and* Christians) have been SPIRITUALLY ASLEEP! People in today’s world (as a whole) are MUCH too worried about the latest music, movies or videogames than they are about world news events and how it ties in to bible prophecy! This stuff was prophesied in the bible over THOUSANDS of years ago (INCLUDING the fact that at the last days, there would be many scoffers and mockers) and yet, most people of today don’t even know that and/or don’t even care! SAD!

But I WILL say this: IF you are a member of the Roman Catholic and/or Catholic Church, don’t just walk away from it, RUN! RUN FOR YOUR DEAR SOUL’S LIFE, WHILE THERE’S STILL TIME! Because believe me, ON Jesus Christ’s Day of Judgement (The TRUE/BIBLICAL/”JEWISH” JESUS CHRIST and NOT the false, Paganized one taught in churches today)……WHEN you stand before Him, The Almighty God, maker of the heavens and the Earth……..

The very LAST thing you’d EVER want THE BIBLICAL “JEWISH” JESUS CHRIST asking YOU, The “Catholic”, is something along the lines of why you never read the bible (front to back) for yourself, to see rather or not the “Catholic churches’s teachings” are/were so and also why you (as a “practicing Catholic”) repeatedly broke the 2nd and 4th commandments (which are NOT to bow down to any idols or graven images and to remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy — respectively), amongst other things. 

Now……we know from Genesis that the TRUE, BIBLICAL SABBATH is the 7th day of the week, which is SATURDAY!!!!! Because remember……The Lord created the Earth and the heavens in 6 days and RESTED ON AND SANCTIFIED THE 7TH DAY (SATURDAY) AS A “DAY OF REST”. And so for MORTAL MAN to “change the Sabbath” and claim that God HIMSELF changed it is (either knowingly or unknowingly) committing BLASPHEMY against Almighty God! 

But folks: Rather you’re an “ex-Catholic” that’s ALREADY gotten out of the Catholic Church or you’re a Christian/Jew that KNOWS the Roman Catholic Church is NOT biblical, we need to PRAY for ALL Catholics….(INCLUDING Pope Francis and all Vatican officials)……We need to pray that the Lord Jesus Christ (the BIBLICAL “Jewish” Jesus Christ) will soon open up their hearts, souls and minds to HIS gospel and not the FALSE, Paganized gospel taught in the churches today! Because remember that you yourself were once an “uninformed” and “restless/unsaved” soul, correct? What if no-one had ever taken the time, prayers or efforts to enlighten YOU? How would YOU feel? 

Hint: DON’T READ THE NEWER BIBLE TRANSLATIONS (NKJV, NIV, NSRV) FOR THEY HAVE BEEN PERVERTED! ONLY READ THE 1611 KJV + APOCRYPHA as the Lord Jesus Christ ADMONISHES (that means SEVERELY JUDGES) anyone who ADDS/REMOVES words from the bible (as Revelation 22:18-19 states!)

The Apocrypha: God’s Written Word Or “Catholic Doctrine?”

As a preacher/teacher of God’s Written Word (The Bible), it’s very, very hard for me to admit when I am wrong or when I’ve made a mistake as it pertains TO God’s Written Word. However, it is with much humbled grief that I ask for the readers’ forgiveness (as well as the Lord Jesus’s forgiveness) for my mistake.

Note: In my postings entitled: “Satan’s Bride: The Roman Catholic Church”, I previously thought (like many Protestant-leaning souls out there) that the Apocrypha was UNBIBLICAL and ADDED *CATHOLIC DOCTRINE*. However, it has most recently come to my attention that that is NOT the case. I have since replaced the graphic showing the Apocrypha on that particular page/post to a graphic showing the “Catheism” (which clearly is NOT biblical, since we’re not supposed to “WAIT” to get Salvation in Christ!!!!)

But anyways, on with the story……So I was most recently doing some research on how they decided what all books of the bible to put in or not put in, when I came across a piece of information which said that the Apocrypha WAS INCLUDED in the ORIGINAL 1611 KJV BIBLE! [WOW! THAT JUST COMPLETELY BLEW ME AWAY!]

Not to mention that the Apocrypha was ALSO included among several fragments found in the DEAD SEA SCROLLS! (I never knew that, either!) And AS I began to dig further and further, it seems like the general consensus was that these books were REMOVED from the KJV bible around the time of the 1800’s! That really blew my mind as well! Because anyone that knows American spiritual history also knows that that’s around the same time that “Christmas” very first started being observed in America! (NOTICE THE CONNECTION?)

But yet, here’s where things get sort’ve confusing…….We know from history that the Catholic Church “created Christmas out of THIN AIR” (based on the former Pagan holiday, Saturnalia and also on the deeds of the “Catholic bishop” named “Nicolaus”). However, most Catholic Churches have KEPT the Apocrypha in their bibles, minus a few books. However, most Protestants have DONE AWAY WITH the Apocrypha and have written it off as “Catholic, ONLY!” (This is strange, to say the least….?) 

However, one thing is CERTAIN: early Christians must’ve considered these books VERY IMPORTANT, in order to include them in the bible! So WHY then were they REMOVED from the bible? Why, indeed!? Some think there’s a “conspiracy” of sorts, that these books contained “sacred information” that the inner “Jewish world” didn’t want outsiders to know! But it must go much deeper than that……..?

But now there’s this whole big controversy about WHAT books should be included in the Apocrypha and RATHER or not the Apocrypha should be considered “inspired scripture” or not. That immediately caught my attention. Because if something is gonna have THAT MUCH against it/opposed to it, there must be something TO it, right? (Or so my “spiritual mind” says to myself, anyways……)

In fact, did you know that there’s 1-2 movies out there with the NAME “Apocrypha” that DON’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE BIBLICAL APOCRYPHA **AT ALL?** That just proves my point of how SATAN DECEIVES! Because NOW, when MOST people hear the word “Apocrypha”, they won’t even likely think of things from the bible or of THE bible but will instead be thinking about a “vampire” movie, etc. of the same name! OUCH! 

But anyways, many have been asking this very question FOR YEARS: “So how are we to know what happened during the times between the Old and New Testament? Why such the big gap in human history?“ Well, quite frankly, there IS a complete “history” of the time between the Old and New Testaments and that IS the events talked about in the Apocrypha!

Therefore, the WHOLE WRITTEN TRUTH of God has been with us ALL ALONG, it’s just that most people had NO IDEA, until now. But several people in these last days are just now starting to WAKE UP to that fact (as evidenced by the sheer NUMBER of Amazon reviews of KJV WITH APOCRYPHA bibles and so, as a born-again believer, that makes me really, really hopeful!) 

Anyhow, it was only after much “research” that I discovered that these books were not “Catholic doctrine” in any way, shape or form but were rather, EARLY CHURCH DOCTRINE! That really gets me and makes me take pause. Because obviously the EARLY CHRISTIANS/MESSIANIC JEWS would NOT have included it among their “doctrines” if it weren’t important, right?

So I did a google search. I thought: “if these books were purposely removed from the bible, I’ve GOT to find out WHY, specifically, and find out WHAT on God’s green Earth was so threatening about them, to begin with!” By the way, did you know that Apocrypha means HIDDEN? What do THEY (the ones that REMOVED the Apocrypha) have to HIDE? It certainly begs of question, here!  

Well, I’ve read portions of the Apocrypha books so far. And I can tell ya right now that they only seem to CONFIRM the bible (Old to New Testament), CONFIRM Jesus Christ’s divinity/Messiahship, and EXPOUND on the bible! “Wow”, I thought to myself, “could THAT maybe be why the *Rabbinical/Orthodox* Jews wanted to DO AWAY with the Apocrypha? Because they didn’t like all the passages pointing to Jesus as their Messiah?”

Well, to answer that question (and more), I went on over to Amazon and purchased the following (because like many others out there who are just now discovering the complete 100% written truth of God, I WANT and NEED to be able to read God’s COMPLETE Written Truth, from COVER TO COVER):

{Note: Now, there’s some MORE books that are mentioned in either the Old or New Testament that are NOT included on this list here from Derek A. Shaver’s KJV with Apocrypha (for whatever reason?) and one of them is “The Book of Jasher”, etc. And in fact, I’ve ALWAYS and forever wondered WHY the bible (especially the Old Testament) talks about OTHER books (such AS “The Book of Jasher”) that are NOT included in today’s Protestant KJV bible!

Why even mention those books in the OTHER testament books if they had no meaning or value, right? But whatever the reason, I’ve decided to read the book of Jasher, etc. separately, in order to get a true feel for why the book of Jasher, etc. was mentioned in the {Old Testament?} in the first place!

And not to further confuse any of ya’ll, but there’s ALSO something called THE PSEUDEPIGRAPHA or what some call “false writings” since they were SO-CALLED written by others than whom the “writings” were originally attributed to or something like that. But as I READ some of these Pseudepigrapha writings (especially, the book of Enoch 1 and the 1st and 2nd book of Adam and Eve), I can’t help but wonder if some of these books were ALSO written by Moses and possibly even “inspired” since, just like the Apocrypha, they seem to be not only CONFIRMING the bible (Old and New Testaments) but also EXPOUNDING on it! [Although I don’t agree with ALL of the “lost scriptures”. For example, I DO NOT agree with any of the Gnostic Gospels such as the Gospel of Thomas, Mary or Judas!] 

Plus, in an odd sense, if any of those writings WERE inspired by God TO Moses, then it makes PERFECT SENSE that the Devil, the enemy of mankind, would try to do WHATEVER he could to try to discredit and disqualify them and then change what we already HAVE as our “bible”, so that people were further and further DECEIVED and taken AWAY from the COMPLETE truth of the Everlasting God of Heaven, Earth and the Universe! 

It’s kind’ve funny though how the COMPLETE written truth of God is in many ways, like a sacred “scavenger hunt”. For you have to search for God’s written truth through MANY, MANY different layers, like peeling back an onion of sorts. In other words, you have to do some SERIOUS DIGGING to get to the COMPLETE PEARL of God’s COMPLETE written truth.

I’m seriously spiritually lamenting (now that I’m “in the know”) about just how many people have NO IDEA that 14-15 extra books were EXCLUDED from the bible in the 1800s! Probably MILLIONS upon MILLONS….People just take their “Protestant KJV” for granted, not EVER thinking (as a whole) that maybe there’s more to it than JUST the Old and New Testaments. Because OFCOURSE Almighty God would want us to know the COMPLETE HISTORY from beginning to end, and NOT just a “part” of it, right?

Although I have to admit, I’m STILL in complete and utter shock over this! As I read through my KJV + Apocrypha bible by Derek A. Shaver, I pray that it will enlighten my heart and my SOUL to God’s Written Word like NEVER BEFORE and that I will never, EVER stray from Jesus’s COMPLETE written word for ALL ETERNITY! I feel SO lucky and BLESSED beyond belief that I have FINALLY come to know THE TRUTH about the Apocrypha! And now, you, my beloved readers, know the truth as well! And the truth shall set you free! 😉

P.S.: The REASON I recommend the Derek A. Shaver version is because it has original Gothic headings and subheadings and updated spelling WITHOUT changing the “concept” of the words from the original 1611 KJV. And even though MUCH DEBATE still rages about rather or not these 14-15 books are “inspired” or not, they’re differently worth a read, rather as PART of the bible or as a separate “reference section”. Heck, even Martin Luther HIMSELF said they were “beneficial reading”.

The Difference Between True/Genuine Repentance Vs. “Face-Value” Repentance

Remember back in grade-school when one kid got into a fight with another kid and then the teacher later tried to make each kid say they were ‘sorry’ to one another, and how the two kids then scowled at each other and mockingly said ‘sorry’ in unison? (In other words, the two kids SAID they were “sorry” but they didn’t truly MEAN IT in their HEARTS?!)

Well, I really hate to admit this but I was actually ONE of those “kids” in the 4th grade! And at the time, I thought I was so “justified” in my actions……the girl had been bullying ME first, and so I bullied her right back, which eventually led to a one-time physical confrontation on the playground in which I shoved her to the ground. The teacher (perhaps in vain?) tried to make us both say we were “sorry” to one another afterwards, but ofcourse we weren’t, at the time!

This is a PRIME EXAMPLE of what I call “Face-Value” Repentance……..It is a SPOKEN/VERBAL repentance but NOT LITERAL!

If we turn through the pages of the bible, we see SEVERAL examples of “Face-Value Repentance”. Let us examine a few:

“And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer” – Exodus 9: 27-28

“Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you. Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.” – Exodus 10: 16-17

“Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears” – Hebrews 12: 16-17

Now……what do ALL of these “Face-Value Repentances” have in common (including my very OWN during the time of 4th grade?) Answer: each and every individual in these cases KNOWS deep, deep down within their spirit that they’ve “done wrong in the name of the Lord” but….THEY WON’T ADMIT IT AND/OR THEY DON’T CARE!

They’re “pridefully arrogant” in their sins and even feel “JUSTIFIED” in their sins:

“Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land. Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And these Old Testament characters are really no different than many “Christians” out there, TODAY. They “say” or “claim” they are sorry, but they are NOT “truly sorry” with tears, repentance and mourning.

What does truly “mourning” over one’s sin(s) mean? Let us turn back to the bible to find out!

Psalm 51 of King David declares:

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.  Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.”

So in other words, David was grieved of his sin, not ONLY by his OWN accord, but by the LORD’S ACCORD! In other words, he was grieved at his HEART! (In other words, he was grieved in his heart, knowing how, in his own sin, he had BROKEN the “heart” of God!)

This is the polar opposite of Esau, who only became sorry after he “got caught” by his father for selling his birthright to Jacob! And if you think about it, that’s really no different than today’s “celebrities” saying “sorry” in the news media for this or that. But one really has to wonder. Are they really, TRULY sorry or just “sorry they got caught?” If they had NEVER gotten caught, would they have still partaken of that “sin”?

However, when King David in the Old Testament said he was “sorry”, he TRULY meant it! That’s WHY the bible calls him “a man after God’s own heart”. In other words, King David was mourning the fact that he knew he had pierced God’s “heart” with his unrighteous SIN! And did King David try to cling to his sin, as though it were a secret beloved pet? No! Ofcourse not! He wanted his sin FAR REMOVED from him! Because he didn’t want to do anything that he knew, from that point on, that would break God’s heart! In fact, he cared more about God’s heart than his own, I’d bet to say!

TODAY’S men and women (specifically Christian men and women) are after their OWN “hearts!” They often think, “what’s best for ME? How is this going to benefit ME?“ They ALSO oftentimes think, “Yeah well, I don’t NEED to apologize for this or that because God ALREADY knows I’m sorry, for he knows all things!“ Or they ASSUME someone they NEED to apologize to ALREADY knows they’re “sorry”, when that personally can’t be further from the truth!

True, GENUINE repentance means to feel SO BAD about something, that you feel spiritually sickened to your stomach about it……..SO GRIEVED that you feel like metaphorically cutting out your insides with GREAT SHAME………SO GRIEVED…that you’d do almost anything to change it (whatever sin you’ve committed/been committing). In other words, it’s a TRUE change of heart.

On the other hand, face-value repentance is just putting on a “show”. For example: A person gets caught cheating on their spouse. And oh, how “sorry” they are, and oh how they promise “they’ll never do it again”. But these types of “apologies” only go so far. What will the cheat-ER do once the cheat-EE (the spouse being cheated on) becomes “too trusting” again? Are they really, TRULY sorry or only “sorry because they got caught”?

One thing that ALL people will have in common that get thrown into the lake of fire someday (Revelation 20:15) is either that they are NOT truly sorry for all their bad deeds they’ve done throughout their lifetime OR will try to “claim” (before God) they’re sorry (but aren’t TRULY sorry, only sorry they “got caught”). In other words, they’ll be the epitome of “face-value repentance”.

On the flipside, the very few people who DO make it into the Lamb’s Book of Life (God’s record book of all his FAITHFUL servants) will have what’s called GENUINE REPENTANCE. They will be sorry NOT ONLY for the hurt they’ve caused themselves and others but for the major hurt they’ve caused to GOD ALMIGHTY *HIMSELF!* They’ll be grieved at their very hearts over the “broken heart” of God over their sin(s)! 

Signs a person is TRULY sorry/repentant:

1). They realize just how “damaging” the sin(s) are to themselves and others and to Almighty God

2). They pray to the good Lord to remove the sin(s) from their life

3). They work about in ways in order TO banish the sin from their life (ex: an alcoholic will stop drinking, a drug addict will work to become clean, a person with severe anger issues will get some anger-management counseling, etc.)

Signs a person is NOT truly repentant/sorry:

1). They stop the behavior “once caught” but then quickly take back up the behavior again “when no-one’s looking”

2). They don’t see their “sin” AS sin or as “bad” of a sin as it SHOULD BE

3). They cry tears of pain, saying or claiming how sorry they are, but then immediately take back up the behavior once God/people around them have forgiven them for “said behavior”

I hope this will help you distinguish true, genuine repentance from “face-value repentance”. In other words, a person can APPEAR in the face to be “most grieved” over their “sin”, but the inside of their spirit may feel otherwise!

In other words, the inside of their SPIRITS may be saying, “ah, come on, it wasn’t/it’s not THAT bad!” while the outward expression on their face might say, “Oh, please forgive me, O how sorry I AM!”

Looks can be deceiving. So be forewarned. If a person says they’re sorry, make sure they actually mean it. And if YOU yourself say you’re sorry to God and to others, make sure that YOU actually mean it!
